Itilleq (which used to be spelled Itivdleq) is a small town in Greenland. It is located on an island. The island is about 1 kilometer from the main land. Itilleq is in central-western Greenland. It is part of the Qeqqata municipality.
The town is 45 kilometers south of Sisimiut. It is also just 2 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle. Itilleq is on the shores of Davis Strait. In 2020, 89 people lived there.

Itilleq was started in 1847. It was first built on a different island. Later, the town moved. It moved 1 kilometer east to where it is today.
How People Make a Living in Itilleq
The main ways people earn money in Itilleq are by fishing and hunting. There is a fish factory in town. This factory is the biggest employer. It gives many people jobs.
The island does not have fresh water. So, Itilleq uses a special machine. This machine turns seawater into fresh water. The town also has a general store. It is called Pilersuisoq. This store sells many different things.

Royal Arctic Line offers ferry services every week. These ferries go to Sarfannguit and Sisimiut. Sisimiut is also a stop for the Arctic Umiaq Line. This line connects to towns like Ilulissat and Aasiaat. These towns are in the Disko Bay area. It also connects to towns in southwestern and southern Greenland.
