Ivo Minář (born May 21, 1984) is a former professional tennis player from the Czech Republic. He was known for his strong game and reached a high ranking in the world of tennis. His brother, Jan, also played tennis professionally.
Ivo Minář was part of the winning Czech Republic team in the 2012 Davis Cup. This is a big international team competition in tennis. After retiring from playing, he also worked as a coach for Czech tennis player Kristýna Plíšková.

Tennis Career Highlights
Ivo Minář started playing tennis at a young age. When he was just 16, he won the European junior championships. This big win happened in Klosters, where he beat another famous Czech player, Tomáš Berdych.
Professional Tennis Journey
Minář became a professional tennis player in 2002. He played in many tournaments around the world. On July 20, 2009, he reached his highest singles ranking. He was ranked World No. 62, which is a great achievement in professional tennis.
Even though he didn't win a singles title on the main ATP Tour, he did reach one singles final. This was in 2005 at the Sydney tournament in Australia. He played against the Australian star Lleyton Hewitt in the final. On his way to that final, he beat three players who later became top 10 stars. These players were Nikolay Davydenko, Fernando Verdasco, and Radek Štěpánek.
Later in 2005, Minář played against the World No. 1 player, Roger Federer, in Dubai. He pushed Federer to a very close match, showing his skill against one of the best players ever.
Doubles Success
Minář also played doubles tennis. In 2009, he won an ATP doubles title. This happened at the Munich tournament in Germany. He teamed up with his fellow Czech player Jan Hernych. They won the final match with a score of 6–4, 6–4.
He also reached several finals in the ATP Challenger Tour tournaments. These are tournaments just below the main ATP Tour. He won 9 singles titles and reached 8 other singles finals at this level. He also reached one doubles final on the Challenger Tour.
