Jabari Akil Brown was born on December 18, 1992. He is a former professional basketball player from the United States. He last played for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the NBA G League.

Jabari played college basketball for the Missouri Tigers. As a junior, he was the top scorer in the SEC. He averaged 19.9 points per game. In 2014, Brown was also chosen for the All-SEC first team.

Jabari Brown's High School Basketball Journey

Jabari started his junior year at Findlay Prep in Nevada. He scored about 16 points per game there. Halfway through the year, he moved back to his hometown of Oakland, California. He then joined Oakland High School.

For the rest of his junior year, he averaged 23.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. In his senior year (2010–11), Brown continued to shine. He averaged 23.8 points and 4.1 rebounds per game for Oakland High. He was ranked as the 19th best player in the country for his class. He was also named a Jordan Brand All-American. In the All-America Game, he scored 14 points in just 15 minutes.

College Basketball Career

Jabari Brown joined the Oregon Ducks men's basketball team for his first year in college (2011–12). However, he only played in two games for Oregon. After that, he decided to transfer to the University of Missouri.

Playing for the Missouri Tigers

As a sophomore in 2012–13, Brown played for the Missouri Tigers. He averaged 13.7 points per game. He helped his team achieve a good record of 23 wins and 11 losses.

In his junior season, Brown became a key player for Mizzou. He led the league in scoring, averaging 19.9 points per game. Because of his great performance, he was named to the All-SEC first team. He also made the Dean's List in the fall of 2012, showing he was good at academics too. In April 2014, he decided to enter the NBA draft. This meant he gave up his last year of college eligibility.

Professional Basketball Career

After college, Jabari Brown was not chosen in the 2014 NBA draft. However, he joined the Houston Rockets for the 2014 NBA Summer League.

Playing for the D-League and Los Angeles Lakers (2014–2015)

On September 23, 2014, Brown signed with the Los Angeles Lakers. But he was later released by the Lakers on October 25. He had played in four preseason games for them.

On November 1, he joined the Los Angeles D-Fenders in the NBA Development League. This team was connected to the Lakers. On January 10, 2015, he had an amazing game. He scored a D-League season-high of 50 points. He made 16 out of 22 shots in a 124–99 win. He also played in the 2015 NBA Development League All-Star Game.

On March 10, 2015, Brown signed a 10-day contract with the Lakers. They needed his help because many players were injured. On March 21, he signed a second 10-day contract. After scoring 22 points against the Philadelphia 76ers on March 30, Brown signed a multi-year deal with the Lakers. In the final game of the regular season on April 15, Brown scored 32 points. He was released by the Lakers before the 2015–16 season began.

Time in China with Foshan Long Lions (2015–2016)

In November 2015, Brown signed with the Foshan Long Lions in China. This team plays in the Chinese Basketball Association. In 27 games for Foshan during the 2015–16 season, he played very well. He averaged 32.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.

Return to Los Angeles D-Fenders (2016)

On March 2, 2016, Jabari Brown rejoined the Los Angeles D-Fenders. The very next day, he played his first game back. He scored 26 points in a 124–103 win. On April 7, he was released by the D-Fenders. This was because he suffered an injury that ended his season.

Playing for Jilin Northeast Tigers (2016–2017)

On September 23, 2016, Brown signed with the Milwaukee Bucks. However, he was released by the Bucks on October 5. The next day, he signed with the Jilin Northeast Tigers. This meant he returned to China for the 2016–17 season. In 30 games for Jilin, Brown continued to be a top scorer. He averaged 33.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game.

Santa Cruz Warriors (2017)

On March 8, 2017, Brown was acquired by the Santa Cruz Warriors. He later played for the Golden State Warriors in the 2017 NBA Summer League.

Jiangsu Dragons (2018)

On January 9, 2018, Brown signed with the Jiangsu Dragons in China. On January 25, he left the team. This happened after another player, MarShon Brooks, returned to the team.

Second Time with Santa Cruz (2018)

On February 21, 2018, Brown signed again with the Santa Cruz Warriors.

Rio Grande Valley Vipers (2019–2020)

On November 30, 2019, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers announced they had acquired Brown. He was out with an injury until December. He was suspended for one game without pay. This was because he left the bench during a fight in a game on December 17.
