Jabari Akil Brown is a former professional basketball player from the United States. He was born on December 18, 1992. Jabari played as a shooting guard or point guard. He is known for his time playing college basketball for the Missouri Tigers. During his junior year, he was the top scorer in the SEC. He averaged 19.9 points per game. In 2014, he was also named to the All-SEC first team. His last team was the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the NBA G League.

Jabari Brown's Early Basketball Journey
High School Highlights
Jabari Brown started his junior year of high school at Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nevada. There, he scored about 16 points in each game. Halfway through the year, he moved back to his hometown of Oakland, California. He then joined Oakland High School. For the rest of that year, he averaged 23.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game.
In his senior year (2010–11), Jabari continued to shine at Oakland High. He averaged 23.8 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. He was considered one of the top basketball players in the country. He was ranked as the 19th best national prospect for the class of 2011. Jabari was also chosen as a Jordan Brand All-American. In the All-America Game, he scored 14 points in just 15 minutes of play.
College Career and Achievements
Jabari Brown began his college basketball journey with the Oregon Ducks men's basketball team in the 2011–12 season. However, after playing only two games, he decided to transfer. He moved to the University of Missouri to play for the Missouri Tigers.
As a sophomore in the 2012–13 season, Jabari averaged 13.7 points per game. He helped the Missouri Tigers achieve a strong 23–11 record. In his junior season, Jabari became a key player for his team. He led the league in scoring, averaging an impressive 19.9 points per game. Because of his excellent performance, he was named to the All-SEC first team. He also made the Dean's List in the fall of 2012, showing he was good at academics too.
In April 2014, Jabari decided to enter the NBA draft. This meant he gave up his final year of college eligibility to pursue a professional career.

Jabari Brown's Professional Basketball Career
Starting in the D-League and NBA
After the 2014 NBA draft, where he was not chosen, Jabari Brown joined the Houston Rockets for the 2014 NBA Summer League. On September 23, 2014, he signed a contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. However, the Lakers later released him on October 25, after he played in four preseason games.
On November 1, he joined the Los Angeles D-Fenders in the NBA Development League (now called the NBA G League). This team was connected to the Lakers. On January 10, 2015, he had an amazing game, scoring a D-League season-high of 50 points. He made 16 out of 22 shots in a 124–99 win against the Sioux Falls Skyforce. He was also chosen to play in the 2015 NBA Development League All-Star Game.
On March 10, 2015, Jabari signed a 10-day contract with the Lakers. This helped the team because many of their players were injured. He signed another 10-day contract on March 21. After scoring 22 points against the Philadelphia 76ers on March 30, Jabari signed a multi-year deal with the Lakers the next day. In the last game of the regular season on April 15, Jabari scored 32 points in a game against the Sacramento Kings. On October 26, 2015, the Lakers released him before the start of the 2015–16 season.
Playing in China and Return to D-League
In November 2015, Jabari Brown signed with the Foshan Long Lions in the Chinese Basketball Association. He played 27 games for them in the 2015–16 season. He averaged 32.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.
On March 2, 2016, Jabari rejoined the Los Angeles D-Fenders. The very next day, he played his first game back, scoring 26 points in a win. On April 7, he was released by the D-Fenders because of an injury that ended his season.
More Time in China and the G League
On September 23, 2016, Jabari signed with the Milwaukee Bucks. But he was released by the Bucks on October 5. The next day, he signed with the Jilin Northeast Tigers, going back to China for the 2016–17 season. In 30 games for Jilin, Jabari averaged 33.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.1 assists.
On March 8, 2017, Jabari was acquired by the Santa Cruz Warriors. He also played for the Golden State Warriors in the 2017 NBA Summer League.
On January 9, 2018, Jabari signed with the Jiangsu Dragons in China. He left the team on January 25. On February 21, 2018, he re-signed with the Santa Cruz Warriors.
His last team was the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. They announced they had acquired him on November 30, 2019. He was out with an injury until December. He was suspended for one game after leaving the bench during a fight on December 17.
