John Marshall "Jack" Ford (May 18, 1947 – March 21, 2015) was an American politician. He was a member of the Democratic Party. Jack Ford served as the mayor of Toledo, Ohio, from 2002 to 2006. He made history as Toledo's first African-American mayor.

Jack Ford's Early Life and Education
Jack Ford was born in Springfield, Ohio, on May 18, 1947. He was a very dedicated student. He earned his first degree from Ohio State University.
Later, he continued his studies at the University of Toledo. There, he earned two more advanced degrees. He received a master's degree in public administration. This degree helps people learn how to manage government and public services. He also earned a law degree.
Jack Ford as an Educator
Before becoming a full-time politician, Jack Ford spent most of his life teaching. He was an educator for many years. He taught at several universities and colleges.
For 22 years, he taught at the University of Toledo. He also shared his knowledge at Bowling Green State University. In addition, he taught at Owens Community College. He helped many students learn about important subjects.
After serving as mayor, Jack Ford returned to teaching. In 2006, he became a "practitioner-in-residence" at Bowling Green State University. He mainly taught in the political science department.
