Jack P. Shepherd facts for kids

Jack Peter Shepherd (born 14 January 1988) is an English actor. He is well-known for playing the character David Platt on the ITV TV show Coronation Street. He has been on the show since the year 2000.

For his role as David, Jack has won several awards. These include the British Soap Award for Villain of the Year in 2008 and the Best Actor award in 2018. In 2025, he also won the twenty-fourth series of Celebrity Big Brother.

Jack Shepherd's Acting Career

Before joining Coronation Street, Jack Shepherd appeared in other TV shows. He was in episodes of ITV's Where the Heart Is. He also acted in the BBC show Clocking Off. In Clocking Off, he worked with Tina O'Brien, who later played his sister on Coronation Street.

Theatre Work and Other Appearances

Jack has also taken breaks from Coronation Street to perform in theatre plays. He played the role of Riff in a production of West Side Story. This was part of Stage 84, a performing arts school in Yorkshire. He also appeared in the musical Oliver! at the Alhambra theatre in Bradford.

In 2008, Jack was part of a show called Ghosthunting with Coronation Street. This show took place on the Isle of Man. Jack uses his middle initial, P, in his stage name. This is because there is another famous British actor named Jack Shepherd. He has also contributed to a show called Grouchy Young Men. This show is a spin-off of Grumpy Old Men and is shown on Comedy Central in Britain.

Jack was the winner of the 2025 series of Celebrity Big Brother.

Jack Shepherd's Family Life

Jack Shepherd was in a relationship with Lauren Shippey for fifteen years, from 2002 to 2017. They have two children together: a daughter born in 2009 and a son born in 2013.

Jack also has another son, born in 2011. This son has a rare condition called alternating hemiplegia of childhood (AHC). Jack provides support for this child.

Since 2017, Jack has been in a relationship with Hanni Treweek. Hanni is a script writer whom he met while working on Coronation Street. They announced their engagement on June 23, 2024, after getting engaged on June 5, 2025. The couple got married at Manchester Cathedral on July 26, 2025.
