Jack Peter Shepherd was born on 14 January 1988. He is an English actor. He is well-known for playing the character David Platt on the ITV TV show Coronation Street. He has been on the show since the year 2000. For his acting as David, he has won many awards. These include the British Soap Award for Villain of the Year in 2008 and Best Actor in 2018.

Jack Shepherd's Acting Career
Before he joined Coronation Street, Jack Shepherd appeared in other TV shows. He was in episodes of ITV's Where the Heart Is. He also appeared in the BBC show Clocking Off. In Clocking Off, he acted alongside Tina O'Brien. She later became his TV sister in Coronation Street.
Theatre Work and Other Appearances
Jack Shepherd has also performed in theatre plays. He took a break from Coronation Street to do this. He played the role of Riff in a show called West Side Story. This was part of Stage 84 The Yorkshire School of Performing Arts. He also appeared in Oliver! at the Alhambra theatre in Bradford.
In 2008, Shepherd was part of a show called Ghosthunting with Coronation Street. This show took place on the Isle of Man. Jack uses his middle initial, P., in his stage name. This is because there is another famous British actor named Jack Shepherd.

Jack Shepherd was in a relationship with Lauren Shippey for fifteen years. They were together from 2002 to 2017. They have two children together. Their daughter was born in 2009, and their son was born in 2013.
Since 2017, Jack Shepherd has been in a relationship with Hanni Treweek. She is a script writer. They met while working on Coronation Street. On 23 June 2024, Hanni and Jack announced they got engaged. This happened on 5 June 2024. Jack Shepherd is also a big fan of the football team Leeds United.
