Tina Michelle O'Brien (born 7 August 1983) is an English actress. She is famous for playing Sarah Platt in the TV show Coronation Street. This show has been on for a long time on ITV. Tina played Sarah from 1999 to 2008, and then again from 2015 until now. She also appeared in the BBC One drama series Waterloo Road from 2010 to 2011.

Tina's Acting Journey
Tina O'Brien was born in Rusholme, Manchester, England. She went to Trinity C.E. High School. Her first acting jobs were in TV shows like Children's Ward in 1997 and The Cops in 1998.
When she was 16, Tina joined Coronation Street in October 1999. She took over the role of Sarah Platt. Her character, Sarah, had a baby named Bethany Platt. This storyline won Tina an award for "Best Storyline" at the British Soap Awards. She also won "Best Newcomer" at the National Television Awards and the TV Quick Awards.
After leaving Coronation Street in 2007, Tina acted in a pantomime in Manchester Opera House. She played Cinderella. Her first TV role after Coronation Street was in the police drama Blue Murder.
In 2010, Tina starred in the TV show Waterloo Road. She played Bex Fisher, the oldest daughter of the new headteacher. Also in 2010, she was in The Secret Diaries of Miss Anne Lister. Later that year, she appeared in the drama Accused.
Tina also joined Strictly Come Dancing in 2010. Her dance partner was Jared Murillo. She had to miss one week because she was ill. Tina left the competition in the fifth week.
From December 2010 to January 2011, Tina played Snow White in another pantomime in Manchester. She also took part in the Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour in 2011.
In October 2014, Tina announced she would return to Coronation Street. Her character, Sarah Platt, came back to the show on March 30, 2015.
Tina's Life Outside Acting
Tina used to do gymnastics until she was 10 years old. She stopped to focus on acting because her family could not afford both.
Tina is the godmother to Emily Walton. Emily played the first Bethany Platt, who was Tina's on-screen daughter.
Tina was in a relationship with Ryan Thomas from 2003 to 2009. They have a daughter named Scarlett, born in 2008. Scarlett is now an actress herself, playing Izzy Charles in the 2023 reboot of Waterloo Road.
Tina married Adam Crofts on New Year's Eve in 2018. They have one son together.
