Jackson is a small town in southeastern Washington County, New York, United States. It is part of the Glens Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area, which means it's connected to a larger group of towns and cities.

History of Jackson
The town of Jackson was created in 1815. It was formed from a part of another town called Cambridge.
One of the oldest businesses in Jackson is Cambridge Valley Livestock. It has been around for a very long time!
In 2010, the town decided that English would be the main language used for official town activities and work.
Two important historical places in Jackson are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. These are the Rexleigh Covered Bridge and the Maxwell Farm.
Geography of Jackson
Jackson covers about 37.5 square miles (97.29 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with a small part being water.
The Batten Kill river forms much of the northern border of the town. This river flows into the Hudson River. The eastern border of Jackson is also the state line with Vermont.
Two main roads pass through Jackson:
- NY Route 22 runs north and south through the middle of the town.
- NY Route 313 crosses the town and heads towards Vermont.

- Eagleville – This is a small village by the Batten Kill river. Most of it is actually in the nearby Town of Salem.
- The Plains – This area is in the southeastern part of Jackson. It's east of Chapin Field.
- Chapin Field (1B8) – This is an airport located near the southern border of the town. It has two grass runways that cross each other.
- Shushan – Another small village by the Batten Kill river. Like Eagleville, most of Shushan is in the Town of Salem.
- Battenville, New York – A small village that is mostly located in the Town of Greenwich.

- Clark Pond – A small lake located north of Hedges Lake.
- Dead Lake – A small lake found west of NY-22 and south of Hedges Lake.

- Lake Lauderdale – Another lake in the middle of the town, located east of NY-22.
- Mount Colfax – A raised area or small mountain south of Hedges Lake.
- Owl Kill – A stream that flows out of Lake Lauderdale.
- Schoolhouse Lake – A lake located north of Lake Lauderdale.
