Jai Stephen Courtney (born March 15, 1986) is an actor from Australia. He grew up in Sydney and started acting when he was a teenager. He had small parts in movies and TV shows. Jai also studied acting at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.
He became well-known for playing Eric Coulter in The Divergent Series (2014–2015). He also played Kyle Reese in Terminator Genisys (2015). Another famous role is Captain Boomerang in the DC Extended Universe films Suicide Squad (2016) and The Suicide Squad (2021). People also liked his acting as a tricky character in the movie Buffaloed (2019).
Jai Courtney has also been in other movies like I, Frankenstein (2014) and Unbroken (2014). He appeared in Australian films such as The Water Diviner (2014) and Storm Boy (2019). Jai Courtney was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, on March 15, 1986. He grew up in a place called Cherrybrook. His dad, Chris, worked for an electricity company. His mom, Karen, was a teacher at Galston Public School. Jai and his older sister went to that school.
When he was young, Jai played Rugby and joined the drama club at school. Later, he went to Cherrybrook Technology High School. After that, he studied acting at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. He finished his studies there in 2008.

Starting Out in Acting (2005–2013)
Jai Courtney's first acting job was in a short film called Boys Grammar in 2005. In 2008, he had a role in the Australian TV show Packed to the Rafters. He also appeared in another popular show called All Saints.
In 2010, he played a character named Varro in 10 episodes of the TV series Spartacus: Blood and Sand. He then got roles in big Hollywood movies. In 2012, he was in Jack Reacher with Tom Cruise. In 2013, he played John McClane's son, Jack, in A Good Day to Die Hard with Bruce Willis. In 2014, he also appeared in the movies I, Frankenstein and Felony.
Becoming a Star: Divergent and More (2014–Present)
In 2014, Jai Courtney played Eric, a leader of the Dauntless group, in the science fiction movie Divergent. Later that year, he was in Unbroken and The Water Diviner. He played Eric again in Insurgent, which came out in March 2015.
In the same year, he played Kyle Reese in the action movie Terminator Genisys. He worked on Insurgent and Terminator Genisys at the same time. Some people didn't like Terminator Genisys very much, and it didn't do as well as expected at the box office.
In 2015, Jai Courtney joined the cast of the 2016 DC Extended Universe film Suicide Squad. He played the character Captain Boomerang. Even though some critics didn't love the movie, it was very popular and made a lot of money.
In 2017, Jai Courtney played the main character in a play called Macbeth for the Melbourne Theatre Company. In 2019, he played a tricky character named Wizz in the movie Buffaloed. Jai Courtney then played a tricky FBI agent in the thriller movie Honest Thief, which was released in October 2020. He played Captain Boomerang again in The Suicide Squad, which came out in August 2021. This movie was well-received by critics. He also starred in the action thriller Black Site in 2022. Personal Life
Jai Courtney has some tattoos. These include a rope, a skull, and a dog. His co-star from Suicide Squad, Margot Robbie, gave him two tattoos. One tattoo says "QLD" because he lost a bet about a sports series. The other tattoo says "SKWAD" to remember their work on the movie. Jai Courtney has a child.
