Margot Elise Robbie (born 2 July 1990) is a famous Australian actress and producer. She has starred in many big movies and also smaller, independent films. She has been nominated for many important awards, like the Academy Awards (also known as the Oscars), Golden Globe Awards, and BAFTA Awards.

In 2017, Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world. In 2023, Forbes magazine said she was the world's highest-paid actress.

Margot grew up in Queensland, Australia. She started her acting career in 2008 on the TV show Neighbours. She moved to the United States and became well-known in 2013 for her role in the movie The Wolf of Wall Street. She is also famous for playing Harley Quinn in the DC Extended Universe movies, starting with Suicide Squad in 2016.

Her parents separated when she was five years old. Margot and her siblings were raised by their mother and did not see much of their father.

The family mostly lived on her grandparents' farm in Currumbin Valley, Queensland. Margot was a very active child and loved to put on shows at home. Her mother even enrolled her in a circus school, where she became very good at trapeze by age eight.

In high school, Margot studied drama at Somerset College. As a teenager, she worked three jobs at the same time: she worked at a bar, cleaned houses, and worked at Subway. Margot's first acting jobs were when she was still in high school. She was in two low-budget thriller movies, Vigilante and I.C.U.. She loved being on a movie set, calling it "a dream come true."

She first appeared on TV in 2008 in the drama series City Homicide. Then, she had a small role in the children's show The Elephant Princess, where she acted alongside Liam Hemsworth.

Margot really wanted to be on the popular Australian soap opera Neighbours. She called the production company every day! One day, she got to speak to the casting director by accident. She was invited to audition and in June 2008, she joined the show as Donna Freedman. Her role was only supposed to be for a short time, but she became a regular cast member. She stayed on Neighbours for three years and received two Logie Award nominations.

After moving to America, Margot got a role in the TV series Pan Am (2011). She played a new flight attendant. The show started strong but was canceled after one season.

Her movie I, Tonya (2017) was the first film released by her company, LuckyChap Entertainment. Margot played American figure skater Tonya Harding. She was also the only choice for director Quentin Tarantino to play actress Sharon Tate in his movie Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. To prepare, Margot met Tate's family and friends, watched her films, and read her husband's autobiography. The movie was a critical and commercial success.
