Jakob Jantscher's Club Journey
Starting His Football Career
Jakob Jantscher began his football journey in his home region of Styria, Austria. He played for local clubs like SC Unterpremstätten and LUV Graz. When he was 14 years old, in 2003, he joined the youth team of Sturm Graz.
Playing for Sturm Graz
Jantscher made his first appearance for the Sturm Graz senior team on October 20, 2007. This was in a match against Red Bull Salzburg. He scored his very first goal for the team on November 24, 2007, in a game against SCR Altach.
Moving to Red Bull Salzburg
On June 3, 2010, Jakob Jantscher signed a four-year contract with FC Red Bull Salzburg. During his time there, he helped the team win the Austrian Football Bundesliga and the Austrian Cup in 2012.
Loan to Dynamo Moscow
In September 2012, Jantscher went on a one-year loan to the Russian club Dynamo Moscow. He played 20 games for them. After the loan, Dynamo Moscow decided not to sign him permanently.
Playing in the Netherlands and Switzerland
On September 1, 2013, Jantscher moved to the Netherlands to play for NEC Nijmegen in the Eredivisie league. He stayed there for one season. After that, he joined the Swiss club Luzern in 2014, where he played for two years.
Time in Turkey and Return to Sturm Graz
In June 2016, Jantscher transferred to the Turkish team Çaykur Rizespor. He played there for one season. On May 9, 2018, Jantscher had a big moment when he helped Sturm Graz win the Austrian Cup again. They beat Red Bull Salzburg in extra time. He played for Sturm Graz until 2023.
Playing in Hong Kong and Back to Austria
On August 30, 2023, Jantscher joined Kitchee, a club in the Hong Kong Premier League. He helped Kitchee win the Hong Kong Senior Challenge Shield and the HKPLC Cup in the 2023–24 season. In June 2024, Jantscher returned to Austria. He signed with ASK Voitsberg, a club that had just been promoted to the 2. Liga.

Playing for Austria's National Teams
Jakob Jantscher also played for his home country, Austria. He represented Austria at different youth levels, including the under-19, under-20, and under-21 teams.
Debut for the Senior Team
He made his first appearance for the senior Austrian national team on June 6, 2009. This was during a FIFA World Cup qualification match against Serbia.
First International Goal
