James Oliver Charles FitzRoy, Earl of Euston was born on December 13, 1947. He passed away on October 1, 2009. He was the oldest child of the 11th Duke of Grafton, Hugh FitzRoy, and his wife, Fortune.
Early Life and Education
James FitzRoy was born in 1947. At the time, his father was the Earl of Euston. Later, his father became the 11th Duke of Grafton. When James was young, he was known as Viscount Ipswich. A very special person, Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, was one of his godparents when he was baptized.
He went to Eton, a famous school. After that, he studied at Magdalene College, Cambridge, a college at Cambridge University. He earned his first degree in 1973. Later, he also earned a Master of Arts degree.
Career Highlights
After finishing college, James FitzRoy worked in the financial world. From 1973 to 1982, he was an assistant director at Schroders. This company helps manage money for people and businesses.
Then, from 1982 to 1987, he became an executive director at another company called Enskilda Securities.
Family Life
On September 16, 1972, James FitzRoy married Lady Clare Amabel Margaret Kerr. Her father was the 12th Marquess of Lothian.
James and Clare had five children together:
