For many years, she was a co-host on the TV show After School Club.

Early life and learning

Jamie was born on July 5, 1997, in Daejeon, South Korea. She lived in Thailand for eight years. While there, she went to Garden International School Bangkok and was given the English name Jamie. Her family now lives in Seoul. Jamie speaks Korean, which is her first language, and also speaks fluent English and some Thai. In 2016, she graduated from the Hanlim School of Performing Arts.

Music career

Starting with K-pop Star and 15&

In 2011, Jamie joined the first season of K-pop Star, a popular TV singing competition. She won the competition and had the chance to sign with one of three big music companies: YG, SM, or JYP Entertainment. On May 21, 2012, Jamie chose to sign with JYP Entertainment. She also received prizes, including a new car and money.

On September 19, 2012, it was announced that Jamie would debut in a duo with Baek Yerin. Their duo was called 15&. They released their first song, "I Dream," on October 5, 2012. Their first official performance was on the music show Inkigayo on October 7. The group 15& later went on a break after February 2015. They eventually stopped performing together after Jamie left JYP Entertainment.

Solo music journey

In July 2014, Jamie became a co-host for Arirang TV's After School Club. She was the longest-serving host on the show, working with many other hosts like Eric Nam.

On March 31, 2015, it was announced that Jamie would start her solo career. She released her first solo song, "Hopeless Love," on April 5, using the name Jimin Park. She performed her debut solo stage before the finals of K-pop Star 4 on the same day.

Jamie also worked with other artists. On May 28, 2015, she released a duet called "Dream" with Eric Nam for a charity project. All the money made from this song was given to charity.

On August 14, 2015, Jamie formed a project group called M.O.L.A (Make Our Life Awesome). She created this group with Seung-youn and rapper Nathan. They released their first song, "My Way," on August 20. Their second song, "Trick or Treat," came out on October 31, where Jamie also showed her rapping skills.

On August 23, 2016, Jamie released her first mini-album, 19 to 20. The main song from the album was 'Try'. Jamie said that 19 to 20 was about "her story." She hoped her fans would feel closer to her through this album, which she helped write herself.

On September 4, 2018, Jamie released her second mini-album, Jiminxjamie. She helped write most of the songs on this album too.

After her contract with JYP Entertainment ended, Jamie left the company on August 6, 2019.

On April 21, 2020, Jamie signed a new contract with Warner Music Korea. She decided to continue her music career using the name Jamie.

After hosting After School Club for over seven years, Jamie announced on August 12, 2022, that she would leave the show. She wanted to focus more on her music and prepare for a new album. Her last appearance on After School Club was on August 16, 2022.

On August 17, Jamie confirmed she was getting ready for a comeback in October. She was preparing to release a new mini-album. On August 29, 2022, her label announced her new mini-album, One Bad Night, which was released on October 5.

On August 30, 2022, Jamie shared a poster for her 2022 North American tour. She planned to hold concerts in seven cities, including Los Angeles, Vancouver, and New York, from October 10 to 23.

On January 5, 2023, Warner Music Korea announced that Jamie's contract with them had ended. They thanked her for her hard work.

Helping others

Jamie has shown a strong interest in charity work. In October 2012, she donated 50 million won (about $45,000 USD) to the Hanbit Performing Arts Company. This company helps blind musicians. Jamie became interested after meeting a fellow K-pop Star contestant who attended the company. She said she wanted to help those who love music as much as she does. She also donated the same amount to World Vision, a charity organization.

On May 28, 2015, Jamie and singer Eric Nam released their song "Dream." They decided to donate all the money earned from the song to charity.
