Jamie also played 17 times for the England national team between 1995 and 1999. He was part of the England team that reached the semi-finals of Euro 1996.

Jamie spent 11 years at Liverpool, which was the most successful part of his career. He played over 237 league games there and helped the team win the 1995 Football League Cup final. Jamie Redknapp's Football Journey

Jamie Redknapp was born in Barton on Sea, Hampshire. He started his football journey as a youth player at Tottenham Hotspur. However, he decided to start his professional career at AFC Bournemouth. His father, Harry Redknapp, was the manager there.

Later, Jamie moved to Liverpool, where he played some of his best football. After that, he returned to play for Tottenham Hotspur for two and a half seasons. His last club was Southampton, where he played for his father again.

Starting at AFC Bournemouth

Jamie began his professional career at 16 years old in 1989 with Bournemouth. His father, Harry, was the manager of the club at that time. He played 13 games for Bournemouth.

His talent quickly caught the eye of Liverpool. They signed him on 15 January 1991. Liverpool's manager, Kenny Dalglish, paid £350,000 for Jamie. This was a lot of money for a 17-year-old player back then.

Jamie was one of the last players signed by manager Kenny Dalglish before he left Liverpool. Jamie became the youngest Liverpool player to play in a European competition. He was 18 years and 120 days old when he played against Auxerre in the UEFA Cup on 23 October 1991.

Jamie scored his first goal for Liverpool in his league debut. This happened on 7 December 1991. He came on as a substitute and scored in a 1–1 draw against Southampton.

Jamie's best performances came during the 1998–99 season. He created many chances and scored 10 goals under the new manager, Gérard Houllier. He later became the club captain in 1999–2000.

Unfortunately, a knee injury stopped him from playing much in the 2000–01 season. He had surgery to fix his knee problems. Because of this, he missed Liverpool's amazing season where they won the FA Cup, League Cup, and UEFA Cup. Even though he was injured, as captain, his teammates asked him to help lift the FA Cup trophy.

Jamie tried to come back from his injury in the 2001–02 season. But he got injured again soon after. His last game for Liverpool was on 30 October 2001. He played 308 games for Liverpool and scored 41 goals. He was a favorite among the fans.
