After taking another medical redshirt in 2020, Jaren became the main starting quarterback for BYU in 2021. He had a great year, completing 189 passes for 2,583 yards, with 20 touchdowns and only five interceptions. In 2022, he continued to shine, throwing for 3,171 yards and 31 touchdowns. Overall in his college career, he threw for 6,174 yards and 52 touchdowns.
