Jasmine Kaur Sandlas, born on September 4, 1985, is an American singer, TV star, and songwriter. She is best known for singing Punjabi songs. Jasmine was born in Jalandhar, India, and grew up in Stockton, California.
Her first song, "Muskan," came out in 2008 and was a big hit. In 2014, she started singing for Bollywood movies. Her song "Yaar Na Miley" from the film Kick became super popular. It topped music charts and people loved her unique singing style. She even won awards for it, like "Most Popular Song of the Year 2016." Jasmine has also been featured on TEDx Talks, MTV Coke Studio, and Spoken Word platforms.

Early Life and Music Start
Jasmine Kaur Sandlas was born in 1985 in Jalandhar, Punjab, India. Her family belongs to the Punjabi Sikh Labana community. Her mother encouraged her to sing from a very young age.
In school, Jasmine joined many singing contests. This is where she got inspired by famous Punjabi folk singers. When she was about 12 or 13, her family moved to California. There, she discovered West Coast music, which also influenced her. She started writing her own songs when she was just 16 years old.
Jasmine's Music Journey
Jasmine's first song, "Muskan," was part of her underground album called 'The Diamond' in 2008. This song, written by Lalie Gill, became a huge success worldwide.
In 2012, she released an album called 'Gulabi' with the rapper Bohemia. After 'Gulabi' came out, the Punjabi music industry started to notice her.
Singing for Bollywood
Jasmine started her Bollywood singing career in 2014. She sang the song "Devil-Yaar Naa Miley" for the movie Kick with Yo Yo Honey Singh. This was a big step for her.
New Songs and TV Shows
In 2015, Jasmine Sandlas released a single song called Punjab De Javak. In 2016, she released two more singles. These were "Ishq Da Sutta" for the movie One Night Stand and "Raat Jashan Di" for Zorawar.
Jasmine also joined a TV show on MTV called Angels of Rock. This show was about women's empowerment. Jasmine and three other artists rode bikes from Mumbai to the Atarri border. They traveled through many parts of India, meeting inspiring women. These women had achieved great things and were speaking up about important issues. In 2022, Jasmine released an EP (a shorter album) called "Tini" on her birthday. It had four songs: “Yakeen,” “Kehnda Hi Nahi,” “Hava Vich,” and “Kehri Gali.” She also released a single song called "Jee Jeha Karda" on November 7.
In 2023, her first project was "Jehri ve." It featured vocals from Gippy Grewal and was part of the movie "mitraan da naa chalda." This song came out on January 30. Another song, "Ittar," written by Jaani and composed by B Praak, was released on March 7.
Jasmine Sandlas was also honored by being added to the Women Songwriter's Hall of Fame. This recognized her important impact on the music world.
