Jawad Hason Williams (born February 19, 1983) is an American former professional basketball player. He is now an assistant coach and director of player development for the Sacramento Kings in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He used to play as a small forward or power forward.

Early Life and High School Basketball
Jawad Williams grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. He played high school basketball at St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio. As a freshman, he played a small role on a team that won the state championship.
In his later high school years, Jawad became a star player. He was named first team All-Ohio. He also earned spots on many All-American teams. He was chosen as the AP and Gatorade Player of the Year for Ohio. He even played in the famous McDonald's All-American Game.
College Basketball Career
Jawad Williams played college basketball for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels. He played under coaches Matt Doherty and Roy Williams.
In his senior year (2005), he was a starting player for the Tar Heels. That team won the NCAA tournament championship. During his senior season, Jawad averaged 13.1 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. He graduated from UNC in 2005 with a degree in African-American studies.

Professional Basketball Journey

Jawad Williams was not picked in the 2005 NBA draft. However, he still got a chance to play in the NBA. The Los Angeles Clippers signed him as a free agent in 2006. He played in four preseason games but did not make the final team.
After playing in Spain, Japan, and Israel, Jawad joined the Cleveland Cavaliers for their summer league in 2008. He impressed them enough to make their training camp roster. On October 23, 2008, he officially became a member of an NBA team for the first time.
He played his first regular season NBA game on December 12, 2008, against the Philadelphia 76ers. He also scored his first NBA points in that game. Jawad was the sixth player from North Carolina's 2005 championship team to play in the NBA.
The Cavaliers waived (released) him on January 7, 2009. But just five days later, they signed him again for a 10-day contract. After his second 10-day contract ended, he joined the D-League team, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. On April 8, he was signed by the Cavaliers again for the rest of the season.
On February 9, 2010, Jawad had his best scoring game in the NBA. He scored 17 points, along with 3 rebounds and 2 assists.
He signed with the Cavaliers again for the 2010–11 NBA season. However, he was waived by them on December 27, 2010.
After his time in the NBA, Jawad played for many teams around the world:
- In February 2011, he signed with Hapoel Jerusalem in Israel.
- For the 2011–12 season, he moved to France to play for Paris-Levallois Basket. He even played with his college teammate David Noel there.
- He stayed with Paris-Levallois for the 2012–13 season. Another college teammate, Sean May, joined him.
- In February 2014, he signed with Pınar Karşıyaka in Turkey.
- On June 13, 2016, Jawad signed with AEK Athens in Greece.
- In February 2017, he moved to Italy to play for Pallacanestro Reggiana.
- In July 2017, Jawad signed with Alvark Tokyo in Japan's B.League.
Jawad Williams announced his retirement from playing professional basketball on June 1, 2022.

Coaching Career
After retiring as a player, Jawad Williams started a new career in coaching.
- In July 2022, he joined Nagasaki Velca in Japan's B. League. He worked there as an Assistant Coach and Director of Player Development.
- On September 9, 2024, Williams was hired by the Sacramento Kings of the National Basketball Association. He is now an assistant coach and director of player development for the Kings.
