Jaylen Tairique Adams (born May 4, 1996) is an American professional basketball player. He currently plays for the Brisbane Bullets in Australia's NBL. He played college basketball for the St. Bonaventure Bonnies. In 2018, he was named co-Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Year. In 2022, Adams helped the Sydney Kings win an NBL championship and was named the league MVP. In 2025, he won the BAL championship with Al Ahli Tripoli.

Early Basketball Career
High School Achievements
Jaylen Adams played high school basketball at Mount St. Joseph. There, he won the MIAA A Conference championship three times. His skills helped his team achieve great success.
Adams chose to play college basketball for St. Bonaventure. In his second year, he averaged 17.9 points, 5.0 assists, and 3.7 rebounds per game. He was named a first-team All-Atlantic 10 player.
During his third year, Adams was one of the top players in the Atlantic 10 Conference. He was second in scoring with 20.6 points per game. He led the conference in assists with 6.5 per game. He was also second in steals with 2.1 per game. For the second year in a row, he was named to the First Team All-Atlantic 10.
In his final college season, Adams missed the first six games. In February 2018, he had amazing games, scoring 40 points against Duquesne and 44 points against St. Louis. He was the fourth-highest scorer in the Atlantic 10, averaging 19.1 points and 5.2 assists per game. He led St. Bonaventure to a strong 26–8 record. They even upset UCLA in the NCAA tournament. He shared the co-Player of the Year award with Peyton Aldridge.
Professional Basketball Journey
Starting with the Atlanta Hawks (2018–2019)
After the 2018 NBA draft, Jaylen Adams was signed by the Atlanta Hawks. He joined them on a special contract called a two-way contract. This meant he would play for both the Hawks and their minor league team, the Erie BayHawks.
Adams played his first NBA game on October 17, 2018. He had 1 rebound and 1 assist in 4 minutes against the New York Knicks. In his first G League game, he scored 23 points for the Erie BayHawks. In February 2019, the Hawks signed him to a longer contract. However, he was later released by the Hawks in July 2019.
Playing for the Wisconsin Herd (2019–2020)
In August 2019, Adams signed with the Milwaukee Bucks. After training camp, he was sent to their G League team, the Wisconsin Herd. He had a great game for the Herd, scoring 39 points and making 6 three-pointers in a win against the Grand Rapids Drive. In March 2020, he set a personal best with 14 assists in a game. For the Herd, he averaged 21.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game.
Short Stint with Portland Trail Blazers (2020)
After his G League season, Adams joined the Portland Trail Blazers. This happened during the COVID-19 NBA restart. He was brought in to replace a player who decided not to return. Adams missed some games due to a back injury.
Return to Milwaukee Bucks (2020–2021)
On November 24, 2020, the Milwaukee Bucks signed Adams again to a two-way contract. He played in seven games for the Bucks. In March 2021, he was released by the team.
Success with the Sydney Kings (2021–2022)
On August 22, 2021, Adams signed with the Sydney Kings in Australia for the 2021–22 NBL season. This was a very successful period for him. He was named the league's Most Valuable Player (MVP). He also helped lead the Kings to win the NBL championship.
European and Chinese Leagues (2022–2023)
In July 2022, Adams signed with Crvena zvezda in the ABA League in Europe. He left the team in November 2022. In December 2022, Adams joined the Qingdao Eagles in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). He played nine games for them.
Second Time with Sydney Kings and Liaoning Flying Leopards (2023–2025)
On July 12, 2023, Adams returned to the Sydney Kings for the 2023–24 NBL season. In January 2024, he scored an impressive 39 points in just 27 minutes in a win against the New Zealand Breakers.
In March 2024, Adams also played five games for the Liaoning Flying Leopards in China.
He re-signed with the Kings for the 2024–25 NBL season on July 1, 2024. He faced a back injury in October 2024. Despite this, he had two high-scoring games in December 2024 and January 2025, scoring 41 and 43 points respectively against the Adelaide 36ers.
African Championship with Al Ahli Tripoli (2025)
In May 2025, Adams joined the Libyan club Al Ahli Tripoli. He made his debut in the Basketball Africa League (BAL). He helped his team win their first BAL championship on June 14, 2025. They defeated Petro de Luanda in the final game. Adams was also chosen for the All-BAL Team as one of the top guards.
Joining the Brisbane Bullets (2025–Present)
On July 13, 2025, Jaylen Adams signed with the Brisbane Bullets for the 2025–26 NBL season. He is currently playing for this team.

Personal Life and Family
Jaylen Adams comes from a family of athletes. His father, Darryl, played for the Maryland Terrapins football team. His mother, Yalonda, played basketball at Wesley College in Delaware. Jaylen's younger brother, Brendan, also played college basketball for the UConn Huskies and George Washington Revolutionaries.
