Jeffrey Curtis Ayres (born April 29, 1987) is an American professional basketball player. He was also known as Jeff Pendergraph before changing his name. He last played for Rayos de Hermosillo in Mexico. Jeff went to Etiwanda High School in California and played college basketball for Arizona State University.

College Basketball Career
Jeff Ayres played basketball for Arizona State University for four years. During his college career, he averaged 12.6 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. He was also very good at shooting, making 58.0% of his shots.
In his second year, he grabbed an amazing 19 rebounds in one game. This helped his team win against Colgate. In his final year, Jeff averaged 14.5 points and was named to the Pac-10's First Team. He led the entire nation by making 66.0% of his shots from the field. In one game, he scored a career-high 31 points and had 11 rebounds against Stanford.
Professional Basketball Career
Playing for the Portland Trail Blazers
On June 25, 2009, Jeff Ayres was chosen by the Sacramento Kings as the 31st pick in the 2009 NBA draft. However, he was then traded to the Portland Trail Blazers. He signed with the Trail Blazers in September and played in the Summer League, where he averaged 10.8 points and 7.6 rebounds.
Jeff made his NBA debut on December 22, 2009, playing for 4 minutes and scoring 2 points against the Dallas Mavericks. He scored his highest career points total, 23 points, in a game against the Golden State Warriors on April 14, 2010. He later had a knee injury and was released by the Trail Blazers.
Time with the Indiana Pacers
Jeff Ayres joined the Indiana Pacers for the 2011–12 season. He had a minor knee injury early in the season but recovered. On April 23, 2012, he started his first game for the Pacers, scoring 10 points and getting 7 rebounds.
In Game 7 of the 2013 Eastern Conference Finals, Jeff was ejected from the game.
Winning a Championship with the San Antonio Spurs
On July 11, 2013, Jeff Ayres signed with the San Antonio Spurs. He played his first game for them on October 30, 2013. On June 15, 2014, Jeff achieved a huge goal: he won his first NBA championship! The Spurs defeated the Miami Heat in the 2014 NBA Finals.
NBA D-League and Los Angeles Clippers
After his time with the Spurs, Jeff Ayres played in the NBA Development League (now called the G League). On October 31, 2015, he was the first player picked in the 2015 NBA Development League Draft by the Idaho Stampede. He played well, averaging 18 points and 9 rebounds in his first game. In January 2016, he was chosen to be an All-Star in the NBA D-League.
Jeff also signed two short contracts with the Los Angeles Clippers in early 2016. He played a few games for them before returning to the D-League. He was later traded to the Los Angeles D-Fenders and was named to the All-NBA D-League First Team. He then signed with the Clippers again for the rest of the 2016 season.
Playing Overseas
Jeff Ayres also played basketball in other countries.
- In September 2016, he signed a short contract with the Russian club CSKA Moscow.
- In February 2017, he moved to Japan to play for Alvark Tokyo in the B.League.
- In August 2017, he played in Turkey for Eskişehir Basket.
- He returned to Japan in September 2018 to play for the Ryukyu Golden Kings. He also played for Nagoya Diamond Dolphins and Niigata Albirex BB in Japan.
BIG3 and The Basketball Tournament
In May 2022, Jeff Ayres was drafted by the team Bivouac in the BIG3 draft, which is a professional 3-on-3 basketball league.
He also played in The Basketball Tournament in 2018 for Team Challenge ALS.

Personal Life
Jeff Ayres married Raneem Ayres in 2012, and they have three children together. In 2013, he officially changed his last name from Pendergraph to Ayres. He chose to use the last name of his biological father.
