Jeffrey Steven Franklin, born on January 21, 1955, is an American writer, director, and producer. He is famous for creating the popular TV show Full House. He also created its sequel, Fuller House, which was on Netflix.

Jeff Franklin's Early Life and Education
Jeff Franklin was born in Inglewood, California. He grew up in a Jewish family. In 1976, he graduated from Raymond College at the University of the Pacific. He then studied media production at UCLA. While studying, he worked as a substitute teacher in his hometown. After that, he started his career as a writer.
Jeff Franklin's Career in Television
Franklin began his TV career as a writer and producer. He worked on shows like Laverne & Shirley and Bosom Buddies. He came up with an idea for a show called "House of Comics." It was about three comedians living together.
The ABC network wanted a family show. So, Franklin added children to his idea. This led to the creation of Full House. The show aired on ABC from 1987 to 1995.
During the time Full House was on, Franklin also created Hangin' with Mr. Cooper. This show starred comedian Mark Curry. Franklin left Full House in September 1992 to work on Hangin' with Mr. Cooper.
He also wrote and produced other TV shows. These include It's Garry Shandling's Show and Malcolm & Eddie. Franklin also wrote, produced, and directed the first movie for the Olsen twins. This movie was called To Grandmother's House We Go.

The Return of Full House: Fuller House
On April 20, 2015, Netflix announced a new show. It was called Fuller House. This show was a sequel to Full House. Netflix ordered thirteen episodes for the first season.
Franklin oversaw the production of Fuller House. He worked with Robert L. Boyett and Thomas L. Miller. All 13 episodes of the first season came out on February 26, 2016. The series finished its fifth season on June 2, 2020.
Jeff Franklin's Departure from Fuller House
In February 2018, Jeff Franklin left the series Fuller House. In June 2019, The Hollywood Reporter shared information about an investigation. This investigation was done by Warner Brothers. It included interviews with several Fuller House staff members.
Jeff Franklin later filed a lawsuit. He claimed that a co-executive producer tried to get him removed from the show. Franklin denied any wrongdoing. The lawsuit was later dismissed.
Jeff Franklin's Personal Life
In 1994, Franklin bought a property at 10050 Cielo Drive. The original house on the site was later taken down. A new mansion was built there by architect Richard Landry. In 2014, Franklin put another house up for sale. This house was also designed by Landry. It was located in the Hollywood Hills.
