Jeffrey D. Hayden (born September 24, 1966) is an American politician. He used to be a member of the Minnesota Senate. He belongs to the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL). He represented District 62, which covers parts of south Minneapolis. This area is in Hennepin County, within the Twin Cities area.

Jeffrey Hayden's Early Life and Education
Jeffrey Hayden was born in San Francisco, California. He worked as an assistant for Minneapolis City Council member Gary Schiff. This was from 2001 to 2002.
Learning and Degrees
He later went to Bethel University. There, he earned a B.A. degree. His studies focused on communication studies.
Serving in the Minnesota Legislature
Jeffrey Hayden has served in both the Minnesota House of Representatives and the Minnesota Senate. These are important parts of the state government.
Time in the Minnesota House of Representatives
Hayden was first chosen to be a representative in 2008. He decided to run when the person holding the seat, Neva Walker, chose not to run again. He was re-elected for a second term in 2010.
Becoming a State Senator
On July 25, 2011, Hayden announced he would run for a state senate seat. This seat became open when Senator Linda Berglin resigned. She left to take a new job.
Winning the Special Election
The DFL Party supported his campaign. On October 18, 2011, he won the special election. He received 61 percent of the votes. He was re-elected to the Senate in 2012. He served in the Minnesota Senate until January 4, 2021.
Community Work and Involvement
Jeffrey Hayden has been very active in his community. He works as a non-profit manager for Hearth Connection. This group helps people find affordable housing.
Helping Local Neighborhoods
He is also a founder of the City of Lakes Community Land Trust. This organization helps make housing more affordable. He served on the board of directors for several neighborhood groups. These included the Bryant Neighborhood Association. He also served on the board of the Powderhorn Park Neighborhood Association. He was also a board member for Community Action of Minneapolis.
