Jeffrey D. Hayden (born September 24, 1966) is a former politician from Minnesota. He was a member of the Minnesota Senate. As a senator, he helped make laws for the state.
Hayden belongs to the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL). He represented District 62. This area includes parts of south Minneapolis in Hennepin County. This county is part of the Twin Cities area.

About Jeffrey Hayden
Jeffrey Hayden was born in San Francisco, California. He worked as an assistant for Minneapolis City Council member Gary Schiff from 2001 to 2002.
Later, he went to Bethel University. He earned a degree in communication studies. This degree helps people learn how to share ideas clearly.
Working in the Minnesota House of Representatives
Hayden first became a state lawmaker in 2008. He ran for a seat in the Minnesota House of Representatives. The person who had the job before him, Neva Walker, decided not to run again.
Jeffrey Hayden won that election. He was re-elected for a second time in 2010.
Serving in the Minnesota Senate
On July 25, 2011, Hayden announced he would run for a state senate seat. This seat became open when Senator Linda Berglin resigned. She left to take a new job with Hennepin County.
The DFL Party supported his plan to run. On October 18, 2011, he won the special election. He received 61 percent of the votes. He ran against candidates from other parties. He was re-elected to the Senate in 2012.
Helping the Community
Jeffrey Hayden has worked to help his community in many ways. He is a manager for Hearth Connection. This group helps people find affordable housing.
He also helped start the City of Lakes Community Land Trust. This organization works to make housing more affordable for families.
Hayden also served on the boards of local neighborhood groups. These include the Bryant Neighborhood Association and the Powderhorn Park Neighborhood Association. He was also a board member for Community Action of Minneapolis.
In August 2020, Mr. Hayden ran for re-election in the DFL primary. However, he lost the primary election to Omar Fateh.
