Jeffrey Thomas Kuhner, born on September 1, 1969, is an American radio host and political expert. He talks about current events and politics on his radio show. You can hear him on WRKO AM 680 in Boston, Massachusetts. He used to be an editor for Insight on the News. He also wrote articles for The Washington Times and other publications.
Early Life and Education
Jeffrey Kuhner was born in Montreal, Canada. His parents were immigrants from Croatia. He went to Laval Catholic High School.
He studied at Concordia University and Queens University in Canada. He also took classes for a higher degree at Ohio University in the United States.
Career Highlights
From 1998 to 2000, Mr. Kuhner taught American history at McGill University. In 2000, he started working as an editor at The Washington Times newspaper. He left in 2003 to work for a Republican policy group called the Ripon Society. There, he was the communications director for the Ripon Forum.
From 2005 to 2008, Kuhner was the editor of the news website Insight on the News. At the same time, he worked for the Thomas B. Fordham Institute. This group focuses on education policy. He was also the president of the Edmund Burke Institute for American Renewal. This group worked to include more people in the conservative movement.
In 2007, Insight on the News published a story about the 2008 presidential campaign. It mentioned that Hillary Clinton's campaign might say that Barack Obama attended a certain type of school. The story praised Obama's character. Kuhner described Obama as "genteel, articulate, poised and charming."
In 2008, Kuhner wrote about the Crimean Peninsula and Ukraine. He discussed the possibility of conflict in the region. He also wrote about global politics and international relations.
Kuhner began writing a weekly column for The Washington Times in June 2008. In 2013, he shared his thoughts on the United States' support for rebels in the Syrian Civil War.
Radio Career
In November 2009, Kuhner became the host of The Kuhner Show. This show was on 570 WTNT in Washington, D.C.. The show ended in September 2010.
Kuhner then started a regular segment on WRKO in Boston. It was called The Kuhner Report. He would call into the WRKO Morning Show to give updates on national politics. In 2012, he began hosting his own show on WRKO, also called The Kuhner Report.
His show first aired for two hours in the morning. In October 2012, it moved to the 6 to 10 AM time slot. In July 2015, the show moved to the midday slot, from noon to 3 PM. On November 26, 2018, the show moved back to the morning drive time.
In September 2017, Kuhner spoke with Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren. He suggested it was not fair for her to criticize wealthy Americans given her own financial situation. Senator Warren responded to his comments.
Kuhner also writes a column called "Kuhner's Corner." It appears on the WRKO website and in local news. He has also been a guest host for other radio shows. These include The Howie Carr Show, The Mark Levin Show, and The Savage Nation.
Personal Life
Jeffrey Kuhner is married to Dr. Grazia ("Grace") Vuoto. She used to be a writer for The Washington Times. She also taught history at Howard University, Virginia Commonwealth University, and McGill University. Grace has hosted her own radio shows and worked as a content producer.
Grace often calls into The Kuhner Report radio show. She is sometimes introduced as "Doctor Grace / Putting Liberals in their place." Kuhner often hints that the caller is his wife.
The couple has two children, Ashton and Eva. Kuhner sometimes uses examples from their lives in his presentations.
Kuhner became a U.S. citizen in the summer of 2016.
