Jeff Leatham facts for kids

Jeffrey Brett Leatham (born September 7, 1971) is a famous American floral designer. He creates amazing flower arrangements. In 2014, France gave him a special award called the Legion of Honour for his work.

Jeff Leatham is the main flower designer for fancy hotels like the George V Hotel in Paris and Four Seasons Hotels in Beverly Hills and Philadelphia. He also designs flowers for big casinos in Las Vegas, Macau, and Boston. He has worked with top fashion brands too, like Louis Vuitton, Bulgari, Burberry, and Cartier.

Jeff Leatham's Early Life

Leatham grew up in Ogden, Utah. This town is about 40 miles north of Salt Lake City. His parents were both schoolteachers. His dad was even a school principal for a while. Jeff went to Bonneville High School in Washington Terrace, Utah. Later, he attended Weber State University.

While at university, Leatham started working at a clothing store called The Gap. He worked in downtown Ogden. He was later promoted to a store manager in Salt Lake City. Then, he moved to a Gap store in Los Angeles. In Los Angeles, a modeling agent discovered him. He then left the United States to model in Milan and Paris for two years.

Jeff Leatham's Career in Floral Design

After modeling in Paris, Leatham came back to Los Angeles. He found a job at the Four Seasons Hotel Beverly Hills. He says this is where he learned how to design with flowers. In 1994, he moved to the George V Hotel in Paris. Since then, he has designed many different things. These include crystal collections and a rug collection. He has also created candles and a fragrance line. He has written three books about his floral art.

In 2009, a TV show called Flowers Uncut was made about him. It was for the TLC channel. The show was filmed in New York City. At the same time, he still lived in Paris. He also stayed on as the Creative Director of the Four Seasons. The show ran for one season.

In 2016, Leatham moved his main office to Los Angeles, California. This move helped him grow his business. He now has many famous clients. These include Oprah Winfrey, Hillary Clinton, Dolly Parton, the Dalai Lama, Cher, Sofía Vergara, Kanye West, and the entire Kardashian family.

In 2017, a special purple flower was named after Leatham in Holland. It is called the Jeff Leatham Vanda.
