Jeffersonville is a small village located in Sullivan County, New York, in the United States. In 2020, about 369 people lived there. The village got its name from Thomas Jefferson, who was an early American president.
Jeffersonville is found in the southeastern part of the Town of Callicoon. It is located along NY 52. The village also has the Sullivan West Central School elementary school.

History of Jeffersonville
Early Settlers and Naming
The first people to settle in this area arrived around 1830. They originally called the village Winkelried.
The very first hotel in the village was named The Jefferson House. It was named after President Jefferson. Because of this hotel, the village was later renamed Jeffersonville. This old hotel building is still standing today on Main Street and is now known as the Abel Building.
Village Incorporation
Jeffersonville officially became an incorporated village on November 24, 1924. This means it gained its own local government.
Historic Buildings
The Jeffersonville School is an important historical building in the village. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008. This list includes places that are important to the history of the United States.

Radio Stations
Since 1990, Jeffersonville has been home to WJFF, a public radio station. It is an affiliate of NPR, which means it broadcasts NPR programs. You can listen to it at 90.5 FM. There is also another signal at 94.5 FM that serves the nearby village of Monticello.
Another radio station, WPDA-FM (106.1 MHz), is licensed to Jeffersonville. This station broadcasts the same programs as WPDH-FM (101.5 MHz) from Poughkeepsie, NY. Its main transmitter is located northwest of Liberty, NY.
Television Program Town Haul
In 2004, the village of Jeffersonville was featured on a TLC Network television program called Town Haul. On this show, interior designer Genevieve Gorder helped to redecorate several buildings in the town. Genevieve Gorder was also a designer on another popular TLC show called Trading Spaces.
