Jeremy Case is an American college basketball coach. He works as an assistant coach at the University of Kansas. He achieved a National Championship as a player for Kansas in 2008. Later, he won another championship as an assistant coach in 2022.

Jeremy Case's High School Basketball Career

Case played basketball for McAlester High School in McAlester, Oklahoma. He was a varsity player for all four years. When he graduated, he was the school's top scorer in basketball. He scored a total of 2,249 points.

During his high school years, Case helped his team win a regional championship. They also made it to the state 5A tournament twice. The McAlester News-Capital newspaper named him the best all-area basketball player in 2002. In 2017, Case was honored by being added to the McAlester Athletics Hall of Fame.

Many universities wanted Case to play for them. These included Oklahoma, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, and Colorado. On July 9, 2003, he decided to play college basketball at the University of Kansas.

Jeremy Case played in 94 games during his time at Kansas. He helped his team win four Big 12 championships. They also reached the Elite Eight (a top-8 finish in the NCAA tournament) three times.

The biggest win was the 2008 National Championship. Case was also a great student. He was named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team twice, in 2006 and 2008. This award recognizes athletes who do well in both sports and school.

Jeremy Case's Coaching Journey

After finishing his playing career, Case stayed at Kansas. He worked as a graduate assistant from 2008 to 2009. This role helps former players learn about coaching.

Case then left Kansas to become an assistant coach. He worked at Southeast Missouri State from 2009 to 2012. From 2012 to 2016, he was an assistant coach at Houston Baptist University.

In August 2016, Case returned to the University of Kansas. He first served as a video coordinator. This job involves analyzing game footage. In the summer of 2021, he became an interim assistant coach. A few months later, he was named a full-time assistant coach. As an assistant coach, he helped Kansas win another National Championship in 2022.

Jeremy Case lives in Lawrence, Kansas with his wife and son. His father, Win Case, was also a basketball coach. Win Case was the head coach at Oklahoma City University from 1993 to 2005. He is now an assistant coach at Ole Miss. Interestingly, Win Case was a college teammate of Bill Self at Oklahoma State in the 1980s. Bill Self is the current head coach at the University of Kansas.
