Jerome Vincent Collins was born on August 18, 1982. He is an American former professional football player. He played as a tight end in the National Football League (NFL). Jerome played college football for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The St. Louis Rams chose him in the 2005 NFL draft.

Jerome Collins: Early Life and High School Football
Jerome Collins went to Wheaton Warrenville South High School from 1996 to 2000. He was part of the amazing 1998 Illinois football championship team. This team was undefeated and won the state title for their division.
High School Sports Achievements
Jerome played high school football with other future college stars. He was a starter for three years. His team won state titles when he was a sophomore and junior. In his senior year, he caught 35 passes for 450 yards. He also scored five touchdowns.
Jerome was also a talented basketball player. He averaged 11.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per game as a senior. He even earned All-league honors in basketball. On top of that, he was a fast runner. He helped his school win the 1999 state championship in the 4x100 relay race.
College Football Journey
Jerome Collins played college football at Notre Dame. For his final season, he switched to playing tight end. He appeared in twelve games that year. He caught six passes for 67 yards.
Defensive Roles in College
Before becoming a tight end, Jerome played defense. In 2003, he played in 10 games as a defensive end and linebacker. He also helped out on special teams. Jerome Collins was chosen by the St. Louis Rams in the 2005 NFL draft. He was the 144th player picked overall. He spent some time on the Rams' practice squad. He also played in three games for their main team before leaving.
Playing for Different NFL Teams
After leaving the Rams, Jerome joined the Dallas Cowboys practice squad. Later, he signed with the Indianapolis Colts in October 2006. Unfortunately, he got an Achilles tendon injury during practice. This injury put him on injured reserve. The Colts released him in February 2007.
Jerome then joined the New York Giants practice squad. He was later added to their active roster. He was part of two Super Bowl-winning teams: the Colts and the Giants. Even though he did not play in a game for either team, he was on their championship rosters. The Giants released him in August 2008.
