Jerome Virgil Henderson (born August 8, 1969) is an American football coach and former player. He is currently the defensive backs coach for the Indianapolis Colts in the National Football League (NFL).
Henderson played as a cornerback in the NFL. He played for the New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles, and New York Jets. He played college football for the Clemson Tigers. He was chosen in the second round of the 1991 NFL draft. Jerome Henderson played in two Super Bowls during his career. He played in Super Bowl XXVIII with the Buffalo Bills. He also played in Super Bowl XXXI with the New England Patriots.

Coaching in the NFL
Jerome Henderson has coached for several NFL teams. He helps players who play in the defensive back positions.
New York Jets Coaching Role
Henderson started his coaching career with the New York Jets. He coached their defensive backs for two years.
Cleveland Browns Coaching Role
After coaching the Jets, Henderson moved to the Cleveland Browns. He followed head coach Eric Mangini there. He worked as the Browns' defensive backs coach for three seasons.
Dallas Cowboys Coaching Role
Henderson joined the Cowboys' coaching staff in 2012. He worked again with Rob Ryan, who was the Cowboys' defensive coordinator. Henderson left the Cowboys after the 2015 season.
Atlanta Falcons Coaching Role
Henderson became a coach for the Falcons. In the 2016 season, Henderson and the Falcons reached Super Bowl LI. They played against the New England Patriots. The Falcons lost the game in overtime. Henderson was with the Falcons for four seasons. He was their secondary coach and defensive passing game coordinator. The Falcons let him go after the 2019 season.
New York Giants Coaching Role
On January 21, 2020, the New York Giants hired Henderson. He became their defensive backs coach. He stayed with the Giants under coaches Joe Judge and Brian Daboll.
In May 2022, defensive coordinator Wink Martindale praised Henderson. He called him "the best secondary coach in the league." Henderson left the Giants on January 16, 2025.
Indianapolis Colts Coaching Role
On February 21, 2025, the Indianapolis Colts hired Henderson. He is now their defensive backs coach.
Personal Life and Family
Jerome Henderson is married to Traci. They have three children together. Their children are Jazmin, and twins Taylor and Tyler.
