Jesse Gilbert Campbell Jr. is a former American professional football player. He was a "safety" in the National Football League (NFL). A safety is a defensive player who helps stop long passes and tackles players who break through the defense. Jesse Campbell played for the Washington Redskins, Philadelphia Eagles, and New York Giants.

He played college football for the NC State Wolfpack. After his football career, he became a high school football coach. Today, he works as an assistant principal at New Bern High School in North Carolina.

Playing in the NFL

In 1991, Jesse Campbell was chosen by the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL Draft. He was the 48th player picked overall, in the second round. This was a big step for his football career.

He played for the Eagles in 1991 and 1992. Then, he moved to the New York Giants, where he played from 1992 to 1996. His last NFL team was the Washington Redskins, where he played in 1997 and 1998.

During his time in the NFL, Jesse Campbell made 404 tackles. A tackle is when a defensive player brings down an offensive player who has the ball.
