Jessica Iskandar (born on January 29, 1988) is a famous Indonesian actress, model, TV host, and singer. Many people know her by her nickname, Jedar.

Early Life and Education

Jessica Iskandar was born in Jakarta, Indonesia. She grew up in a family where her parents had different faiths. Her father, Hardi Iskandar, is a Muslim, and her mother, Wulandari, is a Protestant Christian. Jessica is the youngest child and the only girl in her family, with five older brothers.

She finished high school at Bunda Mulia School. After that, she started studying Interior Design at Trisakti University in Jakarta. However, she decided to stop her studies after three semesters to focus on her growing career.

Career Highlights

Jessica Iskandar started her journey in the entertainment world as a model. She learned modeling at the John Casablanca modeling school.

Her first movie role was in 2005, where she played Kara in a film called Dealova. Later, she acted in another movie named Diva in 2007, which was made in Malaysia.

From 2008 to 2012, Jessica also appeared in many Indonesian TV shows, known as soap operas, and special TV movies (FTV). Some of these include Gadis Pengantar Telur (2010) and Cinta Pura-Pura Nyasar (2010).

In 2013, Jessica Iskandar wrote her first book about her life, called JEDAR: Jessica Iskandar. In 2014, she released a second book, Jedar Power: Love, Life, Lord. This book shared her experiences while she was expecting her first child, El Barack Alexander.

Jessica also became a popular TV host. She hosted the show Dahsyat on RCTI from 2011 to 2013. In 2012, she was chosen as an ambassador for Earth Hour in Indonesia, helping to raise awareness about climate change.

In September 2018, Jessica Iskandar was invited to be a special guest judge on Asia's Next Top Model Season 6, which took place in Thailand.

Also in 2018, she started co-hosting a talk show called Ngopi Dara on TransTV with her friend Nia Ramadhani.

Today, Jessica Iskandar is also a businesswoman. She has her own fashion and cosmetic brands, rents out villas, and owns a bakery named after her son.

Personal Life

On December 11, 2013, Jessica Iskandar married Ludwig Franz Willibald Maria Joseph Leonard. Their wedding took place at a Protestant church in Jakarta. Ludwig was from Germany.

Their son, El Barack Alexander, was born on July 21, 2014, in the United States of America. Later, in 2015, Jessica's marriage ended.

On June 15, 2019, Jessica Iskandar announced that she was engaged to Richard Kyle, after they had been dating for about a year. In 2021, she married Vincent Verhaag.
