Jewett is a small town located right in the middle of Greene County, New York, in the United States. In 2020, about 879 people lived there. The town gets its name from Freeborn G. Jewett, who was a judge in the New York Supreme Court.

History of Jewett
People first started settling in the Jewett area around 1784. The town of Jewett was officially created in 1849. It was formed from parts of two other towns: Hunter and Lexington.
Geography and Nature in Jewett
Jewett covers an area of about 50.5 square miles (130.8 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with only a small part being water.
The town is located within the beautiful Catskill Mountains and is also part of the Catskill Park. This means it's surrounded by natural beauty and protected lands.
