Jimmy McClain (born July 23, 1980) is a former American professional football player. He played as a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). A linebacker is a defensive player who lines up behind the defensive line. They are important for stopping runs and covering passes.
McClain played for the Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars. He also played for the Scottish Claymores in NFL Europe. Before becoming a professional, he played college football at Troy State University. He went to Enterprise High School in Enterprise, Alabama.

- On December 15, 2002, he earned a safety against the Baltimore Ravens. A safety happens when an offensive player with the ball is tackled in their own end zone.
- A week later, on December 22, 2002, he made history. He became the first player for the Houston Texans to block a punt. Blocking a punt is a very exciting play in football.
Time with the Jacksonville Jaguars
