Jobos is a small area, called a barrio, located in Isabela, Puerto Rico. In 2010, about 3,446 people lived there. It is known for its beautiful beach and a special school for solar energy.

History of Jobos
Becoming Part of the United States
After the Spanish–American War in 1898, Spain gave Puerto Rico to the United States. This happened under an agreement called the Treaty of Paris of 1898. Puerto Rico then became an unincorporated territory of the United States. This means it is a part of the U.S. but does not have all the same rights as a state.
Population Counts Over Time
In 1899, the United States Department of War conducted a census in Puerto Rico. A census is like a big count of all the people living in an area. The census found that 1,551 people lived in Jobos barrio at that time. The population of Jobos has changed over the years, as shown in the table below.

Interesting Places in Jobos
Solar Libre School
In 2019, a new school called Solar Libre opened its main office in Jobos. This school teaches students all about solar energy. It was started with help from companies like Samsung, the Hispanic Federation, and even NFL football player Victor Cruz.
Jobos Beach: A Surfer's Paradise
Jobos Beach is a very famous place in Jobos barrio. It is known around the world as a great spot for surfing. In February 2013, a big surfing event called the Rip Curl Pro competition was held right here at Jobos Beach.
