Joe Jackson, born on July 27, 1953, is an American former football player. He played as a linebacker. He spent two seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Canadian Football League (CFL). Before that, the Miami Dolphins picked him in the 1975 NFL draft. He played college football at Pennsylvania State University.

Joe Jackson was born in Chicopee, Massachusetts. He loved playing football from a young age. He went on to play for the Penn State Nittany Lions in college.
Playing for Penn State
Joe joined the freshman team at Penn State in 1971. He became a two-year letterman from 1973 to 1974. This means he played well enough to earn a special award for his team. A memorable moment for him was in the 1975 Cotton Bowl. He returned an onside kick for a touchdown, which is a big play in football!

Joining the Miami Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins selected Joe Jackson in the 1975 NFL draft. He was the 256th player picked overall. At the time, he was considered for positions like tight end or wide receiver. However, he was released by the Dolphins in August 1975 before the regular season began.
