Joseph Morgan's Football Journey
Joseph Morgan started his professional football career in 2011. He played for several teams in both the NFL and the CFL.
Playing for the New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints signed Joseph Morgan on July 27, 2011. He was not a well-known player at first. However, he quickly gained attention. He scored touchdowns in two preseason games in a row. This made many people think he would join the main team. Unfortunately, he got a knee injury. Because of this, he was placed on injured reserve on September 3, 2011.
In 2012, Joseph made the Saints' team as a backup receiver. He didn't play much in the first three games. But in the fourth game against the Green Bay Packers, he made a huge play. He caught an 80-yard touchdown pass from Drew Brees. This was his first NFL touchdown. It was also the team's longest play of the season at that time.
In the sixth game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he made another amazing play. He caught a long pass from Brees. He then avoided a tackle and stayed on his feet. He even flipped another player over his head! Finally, he ran into the end zone to score. People called it "one of the great scoring efforts of the season."
In August 2013, Joseph suffered a serious knee injury during practice. This meant he would miss the entire 2013 season. The Saints placed him on injured reserve again. On October 26, 2014, the team announced he was suspended. He was later released by the Saints on December 9, 2014.
Joseph rejoined the Saints on April 2, 2015. However, he was released again on September 5. This happened during the final team cuts before the season started. He re-signed with the team on September 16. But he was released again on October 24, 2015.
Time with the Baltimore Ravens
Joseph Morgan signed with the Baltimore Ravens on November 4, 2015. He joined the team after another player, Steve Smith, Sr., was injured. However, Joseph was released by the Ravens on November 23. He did not play in any games for them.
Playing in the Canadian Football League
Joseph then moved to the CFL. On October 5, 2016, he signed with the Toronto Argonauts. He spent about a month on their practice team. He re-signed with the Argonauts on December 15, 2016. After playing in some preseason games, he was released before the 2017 season began.
On July 3, 2017, Joseph signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. This was another team in the CFL. He joined their practice team.
