Joseph Scott Galloway, born on November 20, 1971, is a former American football player. He used to be a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). After his playing career, he became a sports analyst for ESPN.
Galloway was chosen by the Seattle Seahawks in the 1995 NFL draft. He also played for the Dallas Cowboys, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Washington Redskins. Before turning pro, he played college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Early Life and High School Sports
Joey Galloway grew up in Bellaire, Ohio. He played high school football at Bellaire High School. In his final year, he caught 52 passes for 1,208 yards. He also scored eight touchdowns.
Besides football, Joey was a talented athlete in other sports. He was chosen as an All-Ohio player in basketball. He also earned a letter in track.
College Football Career
Galloway played college football at Ohio State University. He achieved many honors during his time there. He became one of the top five players in Ohio State's receiving records.
In his junior year, he caught 47 passes for 946 yards. He also tied a school record with 11 touchdowns. This great performance earned him first-team All-Big Ten Conference honors. As a senior, he had 44 receptions for 769 yards and seven touchdowns. He was named Second-team All-Big Ten Conference.
He finished his college career with 108 career receptions and 1,494 receiving yards. He was second in touchdown receptions with 19.

Playing for the Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks picked Joey Galloway in the first round of the 1995 NFL draft. He was the eighth player chosen overall. He quickly made a big impact for the Seahawks. As a rookie, he set team records with 67 receptions and 1,067 receiving yards. He also had three games where he gained over 100 yards.
Galloway was also good at returning punts. He returned 36 punts for 360 yards and scored one touchdown. In his second year, he started all 16 games. He led the team with 57 receptions, 987 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns.
In 1997, he caught 72 passes for 1,049 yards and 12 touchdowns. The next year, 1998, he scored ten receiving touchdowns. He finished that season with 65 receptions for 1,047 yards.
In 1999, he played in only eight games. This was due to a contract disagreement. He finished his time with the Seahawks with 283 receptions, 4,457 yards, and 37 touchdowns. He played 71 games for the team.
In February 2000, the Seahawks traded Galloway to the Dallas Cowboys.
Time with the Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys wanted a top wide receiver. They traded for Joey Galloway in 2000. They signed him to a big contract.
In his first season with the Cowboys, Galloway played only one game. He tore a ligament in his left knee. This injury happened in the first game of the season. He finished that game with four catches for 62 yards and a touchdown.
The next year, he recovered from his injury. He started all 16 games. He had 52 receptions for 699 yards and three touchdowns. In 2002, he started all 16 games again. He made 61 receptions for 908 yards and six touchdowns.
In 2003, he played in 13 games. He caught 34 passes for 672 yards and two touchdowns. He led the NFL with an average of 19.8 yards per catch. He finished his time with the Cowboys with 151 receptions, 2,341 yards, and 12 touchdowns. In March 2004, the Cowboys traded Galloway to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Galloway joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2004. He had a groin injury early in the season. This caused him to miss six games. He played in ten games, making 33 receptions for 416 yards and five touchdowns. After the season, he signed a new contract with the Buccaneers.
In 2005, he had his best season. He caught a career-high 83 passes for 1,287 yards and ten touchdowns. The next year, he played in 14 games. He had 62 receptions for 1,057 yards and seven touchdowns. This was the second time a Buccaneers player had over 1,000 receiving yards in two seasons in a row.
In 2007, he played in 15 games. He made 57 receptions for 1,014 yards and six touchdowns. He became the first player in Buccaneers history to have three straight seasons with over 1,000 receiving yards. In 2008, he missed most of the season due to a foot injury. He was released by the team in February 2009. He finished his career with the Buccaneers with 248 receptions, 3,912 yards, and 28 touchdowns.
Short Stays with Other Teams
Galloway signed with the New England Patriots in March 2009. He was healthy but did not play in some games. This was because he had trouble learning the Patriots' offense. He was released in October 2009.
In December 2009, the Pittsburgh Steelers signed Galloway. He was not re-signed by the Steelers after that season.
In April 2010, Galloway signed with the Washington Redskins. He was released by the team in November. He had 12 catches for 173 yards in 10 games for them.

Life After Football
In 2012, Joey Galloway joined ESPN. He became a college football analyst. This means he talks about college football games and players on TV.
During his time as a player, Galloway also owned a football team. He was a co-owner of the Columbus Destroyers. This team played in the Arena Football League from 2003 to 2008.
