John Benjamin Broussard (born December 18, 1983) is an American former professional football player. He played as a wide receiver, which is a player who catches passes from the quarterback. John was chosen by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2007 NFL draft. He also played college football for San Jose State.
John Broussard was also part of the New York Giants, Chicago Bears, and Detroit Lions teams. He is the younger brother of another NFL player, Jamall Broussard.

Early Life and School
John Broussard was born in Port Arthur, Texas. He went to Kingwood High School in Kingwood, Houston, Texas. He graduated from high school in 2002.
College Football Career
John played college football at San Jose State University. In his final year, he helped his team, the San Jose State Spartans, win the first-ever New Mexico Bowl game. This win also helped the Spartans have their first winning season in six years, which was a big achievement for the team.

Jacksonville Jaguars
John started his professional career with the Jacksonville Jaguars. On September 9, 2007, in the Jaguars' first game of the season, he caught his first pass ever. It was a 47-yard pass from quarterback David Garrard and it even resulted in a touchdown! The Jaguars later released John on August 26, 2008.
New York Giants
After leaving the Jaguars, John joined the New York Giants. He was signed to their practice squad on September 24, 2008. A practice squad is a group of players who train with the team but are not on the main roster for games. They can be called up if needed. John was released from the Giants' practice squad on October 8, 2008.
Chicago Bears
John then moved to the Chicago Bears. He was signed to their practice squad on October 15, 2008. He stayed with the Bears for the rest of that season. After the season ended, he signed a new contract with them on December 29, 2008. However, the Bears released John on August 31, 2009.
Detroit Lions
