John Gregory's Playing Career

John Gregory started his football journey in 1972 with Northampton Town. He played there for five years, showing his skills as a midfielder. He was a regular player, appearing in many games for the club.

After Northampton, he moved to Aston Villa in 1977. This was a step up to the top division of English football. He spent two seasons with Aston Villa before joining Brighton & Hove Albion in 1979.

Playing for Queens Park Rangers

In 1981, John Gregory signed for Queens Park Rangers (QPR). This was a very successful period for him. He helped QPR win the Second Division title in the 1982-83 season. This meant they were promoted to the top league.
