John Joseph Ryba Jr. (born August 10, 1929 – died January 9, 2021) was an American politician. He also worked as a public administrator. This means he helped manage government services for people. As a member of the Democratic Party, he served in the Wisconsin State Assembly for ten years. He represented the area around Green Bay from 1993 to 2003.

John Ryba was born in Chicago, Illinois, on August 10, 1929. He went to Thomas Kelly High School in Chicago. In March 1951, he was drafted into the United States Army. He served during the Korean War. After the war, he continued to serve in the United States Army Reserve.
John Ryba's Political Work
John Ryba started his political career by serving his local community. From 1970 to 1993, he was a member of the Brown County Board of Supervisors. He also served on the Green Bay City Council during this time. These roles meant he helped make decisions for the county and the city.
