John George O'Hurley Jr. (born October 9, 1954) is an American actor, comedian, and television personality. He is famous for playing the funny and eccentric boss J. Peterman on the TV show Seinfeld. Many people also know him as the voice of King Neptune in SpongeBob SquarePants.
From 2006 to 2010, O'Hurley hosted the popular game show Family Feud. He also hosted another game show, To Tell the Truth, from 2000 to 2002.

Early Life and Education
John O'Hurley was born in Kittery, Maine. His mother, Jean, was a housewife, and his father, John, was an ear, nose, and throat doctor. He went to high school in a few different states, including Massachusetts and Connecticut, before graduating from Cardinal Gibbons High School in Florida in 1972.
After high school, O'Hurley went to Providence College. He studied acting and earned a degree in Theatre in 1976.
O'Hurley does charity work for the Epilepsy Foundation. He was inspired to help because his older sister, Carol, had epilepsy. She sadly passed away in 1970 when she was 17.

John O'Hurley has had a long and successful career in television, movies, and on stage. He is known for his deep voice and playing confident, often funny characters.
Playing J. Peterman in Seinfeld
From 1995 to 1998, O'Hurley played J. Peterman on the hit comedy show Seinfeld. The character was based on a real person, John Peterman, who owned a famous clothing catalog company. O'Hurley's character was known for telling long, dramatic stories about his world travels.
The role was so popular that when the real J. Peterman Company was relaunched, O'Hurley invested his own money in it. He became a part-owner of the company and still helps run it today.
Competing on Dancing with the Stars
In 2005, O'Hurley was a contestant on the very first season of Dancing with the Stars. He was paired with professional dancer Charlotte Jørgensen. They were very popular with the audience and made it all the way to the finals.
In the final episode, they lost to actress Kelly Monaco. However, many fans felt that O'Hurley should have won. The TV network decided to have a special "rematch" between the two couples. This time, only the viewers' votes counted.
O'Hurley and Jørgensen won the rematch. They raised $126,000 for a charity called Golfers Against Cancer. They later made a video to teach people how to dance.

O'Hurley is a skilled pianist and singer. He taught himself how to play the piano and has composed his own music since he was a teenager. In 2004, he released an album of his piano music called Peace of Our Minds.
He was married to Eva LaRue from 1992 to 1994. In 2004, he married Lisa Mesloh, and they have one son.
O'Hurley is a fan of Boston sports teams, including the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.
