Jon Olsson (born August 17, 1982) is a well-known former professional freeskier and alpine ski racer from Sweden. He was born in Mora. Jon started his career as a ski racer. But when he was 16, he decided to try out twin-tip skis and stopped racing.
Eight years later, Jon made a fun bet with another skier, Jens Byggmark. The bet was about making it to the Olympics in 2014! So, Jon started ski racing again. He became famous for inventing cool new double flips, like the "DJ flip," the "hexo flip," and the "kangaroo flip."
From 2005 to 2015, Jon often hosted a big ski event called the Jon Olsson Invitational (JOI). In 2007, a magazine called Freeskier even voted it the best big air event! He also hosted the Jon Olsson Super Sessions (JOSS) from 2007 to 2010. This was a film contest where teams of skiers made short ski movies in Åre, Sweden. Jon first competed in the Alpine Skiing World Cup in December 2010. His brother, Hans Olsson, is also a famous Swedish alpine skier.
