Jordyn Ashley Poulter (born July 31, 1997) is an American volleyball player. She plays as a setter, which is a key position in volleyball. Jordyn is a member of the United States women's national volleyball team. She has won many important international awards. This includes an Olympic gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. This was the first time the U.S. women's team won Olympic gold in volleyball. She also earned a silver medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Before playing professionally, Poulter played college volleyball for the University of Illinois Fighting Illini from 2015 to 2018.

Early Life and High School Success
Jordyn Poulter was born in Naperville, Illinois. She grew up in Aurora, Colorado. She went to Eaglecrest High School. Jordyn was a top volleyball player in high school. She was ranked as the third-best recruit in the country. She was also the best setter recruit.
Poulter won many state and national awards. One special award was the Andi Collins award. This award is given to the best setter in the country. During her high school career, she had 2,529 assists. She also made 716 kills, 664 digs, and 385 blocks. She served 208 aces in 101 matches.
Volleyball Career Highlights
Playing for the University of Illinois
Many top college volleyball teams wanted Jordyn Poulter. Her final two choices were UCLA and Illinois. She decided to play for Illinois when she was in high school. She was named an All-American twice during her college years.
In her senior year, she was named the Big Ten Setter of the Year. She helped her team, the Illinois Fighting Illini, reach the Final Four. This is a major achievement in college volleyball.
Professional and National Team Journey
Jordyn Poulter started training with the senior U.S. National Team in 2018. She was still in college at the time. She helped the team win a gold medal in the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League. She also won gold at the 2019 Women's Pan-American Volleyball Cup.
In May 2021, she was chosen for the 18-player roster. This was for the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League. Poulter played in most of the matches. The USA team won the gold medal for the third year in a row. They beat Brazil in the final. Jordyn was named the "Best Setter" of the tournament.
On June 7, 2021, Coach Karch Kiraly announced the Olympic team. Poulter was one of the 12 players chosen for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. She started every match. During the last group match against Italy, she hurt her ankle. This injury made her miss the quarter-finals. However, her teammate Micha Hancock stepped in. The USA team still won that match.
Poulter recovered and returned for the semi-finals. She led her team to victory. Team USA then won their first-ever gold medal in women's indoor volleyball. Jordyn was also named the "Best Setter" of the Olympics.
Poulter signed with Igor Gorgonzola Novara for the 2022–2023 season. She was their starting setter. However, she suffered a serious knee injury in December 2022. This injury included her ACL, MCL, and meniscus. She returned to play with the U.S. National Team in the 2024 FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League. She was also named to the Olympic team for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
Jordyn Poulter is a founding athlete for LOVB Pro. This is a new professional volleyball league in the U.S. She will play for the Salt Lake City team in its first season.

Personal Life
In May 2022, Jordyn Poulter's gold medal from the 2020 Summer Olympics was stolen. It was taken from her vehicle in Anaheim, California. The person who took it was arrested in early June. The medal was found on June 27, 2022. Owners of a barbershop in Anaheim found it on their property. They then contacted the Anaheim Police Department.
