Starting Her Music Career
In 2014, a famous artist named Namewee discovered Joyce. She then joined his music company, RED People. Her first song, "Malaysia Chabor," was released and became a huge hit in Malaysia right away. It made her famous overnight! Namewee wrote the song, and in it, Joyce sings that she is a "Malaysian Chabor" (which means Malaysian girl in the Hokkien language). Other famous people and singers, like Happy Polla and TFBoys, even covered the song, which made it even more popular. The music video for "I Miss You" has nearly 58 million views on YouTube. Later, she released "I Miss You 2.0" with Namewee and even a Vietnamese version.
In May 2016, Joyce acted in a Singaporean comedy movie called Young & Fabulous. She played a main role alongside Aloysius Pang, Jeffrey Xu, and Joshua Tan. The movie was about cosplay.
