Ju Ji-hoon (Hangul: 주지훈) is a famous South Korean actor and model. He was born on May 16, 1982. He first became well-known around the world for his main role in the TV show Princess Hours in 2006.
He has also become very popular for his roles in other series like Mask (2015), Kingdom (2019–2020), and Hyena (2020). More recently, he starred in Light Shop (2024) and The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call (2025), winning the Best Actor award for the latter. Ju Ji-hoon has also received praise for his acting in movies such as Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds (2017) and its sequel in 2018, and The Spy Gone North (2018).

Early Life and Education
Ju Ji-hoon was born in Seoul, South Korea, on May 16, 1982. He grew up in the Gangdong District. He studied Acting at Kyonggi University and earned his degree there.
Acting Career Highlights
Starting as a Model and Actor (2003–2008)
Ju Ji-hoon began his career as a model in 2003. He appeared in advertisements for big clothing brands like Calvin Klein, Levi's, and Reebok. He had small roles in TV dramas at first.
His big break came in 2006 with the romantic comedy Princess Hours. This show was based on a popular comic book called Goong. Princess Hours was a huge success in South Korea and across Asia. It made Ju Ji-hoon a star in the Korean Wave, which is the global popularity of South Korean culture. He won the Best New Actor award for his role.
In 2007, Ju Ji-hoon starred in the KBS2 drama Lucifer. He also received the New Asian Star award for his work in Princess Hours and Lucifer. His first movie role was in Antique in 2008. This film was shown at the 59th Berlin International Film Festival.
Military Service and Return to Acting (2009–2017)
Ju Ji-hoon took a break from acting to complete his mandatory military service in South Korea. He joined the Republic of Korea Army on February 2, 2010. During his service, he even performed in a military musical called Voyage of Life with actor Lee Joon-gi. This musical celebrated the 60th anniversary of the Korean War. Ju Ji-hoon finished his military service on November 21, 2011.
After his military service, he signed with a new entertainment company, KeyEast. In August 2012, he made his acting comeback in the historical comedy film I Am the King. In this movie, he played two different characters: Grand Prince Choong-nyung and a slave named Deok-chil. The story was inspired by The Prince and the Pauper.
He then starred as a pianist in the drama Five Fingers. He also appeared in the medical drama Medical Top Team and the romantic comedy film Marriage Blue. In 2014, he starred in the film Confession. In 2015, he returned to TV with the drama Mask.
In 2016, Ju Ji-hoon starred in the crime thriller Asura: The City of Madness. This film was shown at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival. He won the Popular Film Star award for his performance.
Continued Success (2018–Present)
From 2017 to 2018, Ju Ji-hoon starred in the two-part fantasy movie series Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds. These films were incredibly popular in South Korea. He became well-known for his role as Haewonmaek.
In 2018, he starred in the thriller films The Spy Gone North and Dark Figure of Crime. His acting in both movies received great reviews. He won several Best Supporting Actor awards for The Spy Gone North.
In 2019, Ju Ji-hoon returned to TV with two series: Netflix's zombie historical drama Kingdom and the fantasy legal drama Item. He continued his role in the second season of Kingdom in 2020. He also starred in the legal drama Hyena.
In 2021, he joined a new agency, H& Entertainment. He also made a special appearance in the film Hunt, which was released in August 2022. In 2022, he was cast as the main character, Woo Chae-woon, in the science fiction thriller drama Blood Free. This show was released worldwide on Disney+ in 2024. He also starred in Gentleman (2022) and Ransomed (2023). In 2024, he appeared in Project Silence, Love Your Enemy, and Light Shop. He also starred in The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call in 2025.
