Juan del Pozo Horta (born December 13, 1584 – died August 16, 1660) was an important leader in the Catholic Church. He served as a bishop in three different cities in Spain. These cities were Lugo, León, and Segovia.

Life and Church Service

Juan del Pozo Horta was born in a city called Valladolid in Spain. He became a priest in a religious group known as the Order of Preachers.

In 1646, during the time of Pope Innocent X, Juan del Pozo Horta was chosen to be the Bishop of Lugo. A bishop is a high-ranking leader in the Christian church. On October 14, 1646, he officially became a bishop. This ceremony is called a consecration. Giulio Rospigliosi led the ceremony.

A few years later, on January 10, 1650, Pope Innocent X appointed him again. This time, he became the Bishop of León.

His final important role began in 1656. The King of Spain chose him to be the Bishop of Segovia. Pope Alexander VII confirmed this choice on August 28, 1656. Juan del Pozo Horta served as the Bishop of Segovia until he passed away on August 16, 1660. He was 75 years old.

During his time as a bishop, he also helped other church leaders. For example, he was one of the main people who helped consecrate Juan Pérez de Vega as the Bishop of Tui in 1649.
