Julianne Phillips (born May 6, 1960) is an American former model and actress. She started her career as a model in the early 1980s. Later, she became an actress. She first became well-known as the first wife of musician Bruce Springsteen. She was also famous for her role as Francesca "Frankie" Reed on the TV show Sisters (1991–1996).

About Julianne Phillips
Julianne Phillips was born in Evanston, Illinois, in the United States. She was the youngest of six children. Her father, William Phillips, worked in insurance. Her mother was Ann Phillips. Julianne has four older brothers and one older sister. When she was young, her family moved to Oregon. They settled in Lake Oswego, a suburb of Portland. This is where she grew up.
Julianne Phillips finished high school at Lake Oswego High School. She then went to Brooks College in Long Beach, California.
Starting Her Career
After college, Julianne Phillips went back to Oregon. She began acting in local plays. This led to her signing with Elite Modeling Agency in 1982. The agency thought she was a "perfect-ten." She could earn as much as $2,000 a day as a model.
After modeling in New York City, Phillips moved to Los Angeles. There, she appeared in a music video for the band .38 Special. The song was called "If I'd Been the One." This helped her get acting roles. In 1984, she acted in two TV movies: His Mistress and Summer Fantasy. She also appeared in the music video for "Glory Days" by Bruce Springsteen.
Marriage and Acting
Julianne Phillips gained attention when she became the girlfriend and later the wife of musician Bruce Springsteen. They met in October 1984. They got married in Lake Oswego, Oregon, on May 13, 1985. They later divorced in March 1989. Since their divorce, neither Julianne nor Bruce has spoken publicly about their marriage.
Julianne Phillips continued her acting career during and after her marriage. She appeared in movies like Odd Jobs (1986) and Sweet Lies (1988). She also acted in Seven Hours to Judgment (1988). In 1989, she starred with Chevy Chase in Fletch Lives and with John Ritter in Skin Deep.
Her Best-Known Role
Two years later, in 1991, Julianne took on the role of Frankie Reed. This was a business-focused character on the TV show Sisters. This role became her most famous. She left the show at the end of its fifth season in 1995. However, she returned for the very last episode in 1996.
After Sisters, she acted in a few more movies. These included Big Bully (1996), Colin Fitz Lives! (1997), and Allie & Me (1997). She also appeared in the TV disaster movie Tidal Wave: No Escape (1997).
Life After Acting
Julianne Phillips stopped acting in 1997. She has mostly stayed out of the public eye since then. In 2001, she was interviewed for a TV show called Intimate Portrait. This episode was about her Sisters co-star Sela Ward. In 2014, she reunited with her Sisters co-stars, Swoosie Kurtz and Patricia Kalember. This reunion was for Entertainment Weekly magazine. It was also shown on the TV program Today.
