Grupo Jumex, S.A. de C.V. is a very popular brand of juice and nectar from Mexico. Its name, "Jumex," is short for Jugos de México, which means "Juices of Mexico."
Many people in the United States, especially those from Hispanic backgrounds, also love Jumex drinks. Today, the Jumex Group makes many different kinds of drinks. These include fresh and preserved fruit juices, nectar, special drinks for kids, milk, smoothies, energy drinks, and sports drinks.
The main office for Jumex is in Ecatepec de Morelos, which is in the State of Mexico, near Mexico City.

How Jumex Started
Jumex began a long time ago, on April 27, 1961. It was first called Empacadora de Frutas y Jugos, S.A. This name means "Fruit and Juice Packing Industry, Inc."
The First Juice
The idea for Jumex came from Don Eugenio López Rodea. He wanted to put fruit nectar into cans. The very first apple nectar in a 350-milliliter can was made on June 6, 1961.
Growing Big
When Jumex first started, it had only 20 workers. With help from his family and community, Don Eugenio's dream grew. Now, over 4,000 people work for Jumex!
New Flavors and the Blue Can
The first flavors Jumex offered were apricot, apple, guava, mango, pear, plum, and tamarind. Today, you can find many more flavors and different mixes under the Jumex brand.
The well-known Jumex brand name and its famous "little blue can" were first introduced in 1964.
The Jumex Group Today
The company that makes Jumex and other popular drinks is called the Jumex Group. This group includes several different companies. Some of these are Frugosa, Botemex, Jugomex, Alijumex, and Vilore Foods, Inc. in the U.S. Jumex also has a connection with another Mexican food company called La Costeña.
In 2013, Jumex bought another beverage company named Kern's.
