Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis is a fun video game where you get to build and manage your very own dinosaur theme park! It was made for PC and PlayStation 2 players. Imagine being in charge of a park filled with amazing dinosaurs, just like in the movies. Your main goal is to create a successful park, keep your guests happy, and most importantly, keep everyone safe from any runaway dinosaurs!

What is Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis?

This game lets you become the manager of your own dinosaur park. You get to choose which island to build on. You can pick from different landscapes. Then, you decide which of the 25 types of dinosaurs you want to bring to life in your park. The game combines building, strategy, and a bit of adventure.

Building Your Dream Park

To start your park, you need to build many different things. You will place visitor centers, shops, and restaurants for your guests. You also need to build important facilities like ranger stations and power plants. Don't forget the fences! Strong fences are very important to keep your dinosaurs safely inside their enclosures. You can choose different types of fences depending on the dinosaurs.

Bringing Dinosaurs to Life

The most exciting part is getting your dinosaurs! You send out special teams to dig sites around the world. They look for ancient dinosaur bones and amber with DNA inside. Once you find enough DNA, you can bring it back to your lab. Scientists will then work to create a new dinosaur egg. After the egg hatches, you can release your new dinosaur into its enclosure. Make sure each dinosaur has the right environment to be happy.

Keeping Guests Happy and Safe

Your park needs visitors to make money. Happy guests will spend more money and tell their friends about your park. You need to make sure there are enough attractions, food, and restrooms. But the biggest challenge is keeping everyone safe. Dinosaurs can sometimes break out of their enclosures. When this happens, you need to act fast! Your park rangers will help to recapture the dinosaurs. They also help to fix damaged fences.

Exciting Missions and Site B

The game offers 12 exciting missions for you to complete. These missions challenge your park management skills. You might need to rescue stranded guests or manage a dinosaur outbreak. Finishing all the missions unlocks a special game option called Site B. In Site B, you can create an island without any fences or people. It's just a wild island where dinosaurs roam free. This is similar to the third Jurassic Park movie. It's a great way to watch your dinosaurs live naturally without the pressure of managing a park.
