Just Room Enough Island, also known as Hub Island, is a tiny island in the Thousand Islands chain. This chain of islands is located in New York, United States. The island is famous for being one of the smallest inhabited islands in the world. It is about 3,300 square feet in size, which is roughly the size of a tennis court. On this small piece of land, you can find a house, a tree, some shrubs, and a small beach.
History of Just Room Enough Island
The Sizeland family bought this island in the 1950s. They wanted a special place for their holidays. So, they built a house right on the island. Because the island is so small, people often joke about it. In 2010, a newspaper called Washington Post wrote that "one misstep and you're swimming." This means it's easy to accidentally fall into the water!
