Club Career Highlights
Starting at Arsenal
Justin Hoyte was born in Leytonstone, London. He joined the famous football club Arsenal when he was just nine years old. He grew up playing in Arsenal's youth teams.
In 2001, he was a substitute player when Arsenal won the FA Youth Cup. This is a big competition for young football players. He signed his first professional contract with Arsenal in July 2002.
First Team Appearances
Hoyte played his first senior game for Arsenal in May 2003. It was a big 6–1 win against Southampton. He played one more league game in the 2003–04 FA Premier League season. Arsenal won the league that year, but he didn't play enough games to get a winner's medal.

In 2004, Justin played in the 2004 FA Community Shield match. Arsenal beat Manchester United in that game. He got his first start on August 28, 2004, against Norwich City. He played well, even though he gave away a penalty. He finished that season with 12 games played for Arsenal.
Loan to Sunderland
In 2005, Arsenal decided to loan Hoyte to Sunderland for the 2005–06 Premier League season. This meant he would play for Sunderland for a while. He played 31 games for Sunderland and scored one goal. This goal was in a big local derby game against Newcastle United in April 2006.
Return to Arsenal
When he returned to Arsenal, Justin played as a temporary left back. This was because other players were injured or had moved to different clubs. He scored his first goal for Arsenal on January 2, 2007. It was in a 4–0 win against Charlton Athletic. This goal was special because it was the first time an English player scored for Arsenal in their new Emirates Stadium.
He played 36 games that season, including the League Cup final. Arsenal lost that final to Chelsea. Justin wanted to stay at Arsenal and fight for his place. However, Arsenal decided to accept an offer from Middlesbrough. Justin moved to Middlesbrough on August 16, 2008.
Playing for Middlesbrough
Justin Hoyte joined Middlesbrough in 2008. He scored his first goal for the club in December 2009 against Barnsley. He became a regular player for Middlesbrough.
In February 2012, during an FA Cup game, a fan ran onto the field and bumped into Hoyte. Justin was seen limping after this. Middlesbrough lost that game.
Hoyte left Middlesbrough in July 2012, but he soon signed a new two-year contract to stay with the team. In November 2012, he scored his second league goal for Middlesbrough. It was a great shot from just inside the penalty area. This goal helped Middlesbrough win 3–1 against Sheffield Wednesday. He played 162 games for Middlesbrough in total.
Later Career Clubs
In November 2013, Justin joined Millwall on loan. This move became permanent in January 2014. He played only a few games for Millwall before leaving in 2015.
