Justin Richards (born September 14, 1961) is a British writer. He creates exciting science fiction and fantasy stories. Many of his books are set in old London, like the Victorian era, or in modern times. He's also famous for writing many books and audio plays about the popular TV show Doctor Who. He even helps guide the Doctor Who books for BBC Books.
About Justin Richards
Justin Richards was born in Epping, England, on September 14, 1961. He went to Dean Close School in Cheltenham. Later, he studied English and Theatre at the University of Warwick.
Besides writing, Justin has worked in different jobs. He was a technical writer and helped design computer programs. He is married and has two sons, Julian and Chris. He lives in Warwickshire, England.
Justin's Books and Stories
Justin Richards started his writing career with books based on Doctor Who. He wrote for different Doctor Who book series. He still writes for BBC Books and is a Creative Director for their Doctor Who novels. This means he helps decide what new Doctor Who stories get published.
In 2003, Justin began writing a fun series for kids called The Invisible Detective. These books have two stories happening at once: one in the 1930s and one in the present day. This shows his interest in time travel and paradoxes. He also wrote the Time Runners series, which is all about controlling time.
For younger readers, he wrote the Agent Alfie books. He also teamed up with Jack Higgins to write action-adventure books for young teens. Some of his books, like the Department of Unclassified Artefacts and The School of Night series, have spooky or supernatural elements.
Justin's book The Chaos Code won the Hull Children's Book Award in 2008. His book Demon Storm was also nominated for the Southampton's Favourite Book award in 2011.
He has also written audio plays for Big Finish Productions. These are like radio shows with actors and sound effects. He even wrote for the TV show Family Affairs. In 2011, he started his own company, Braxiatek, to publish books online. His novel The Skeleton Clock was one of his first e-books.
