Károly Horváth (born October 26, 1950 – died November 4, 2015) was a talented musician and composer from Romania. He spent most of his career creating music for theatre plays in Hungary. He was known for his ability to play many instruments, including the cello, double bass, and flute.

About Károly Horváth
Károly Horváth was born in Oradea, Romania. He studied music and finished his studies in 1970 at the National University of Music Bucharest. From 1975, he worked for a TV station in Bucharest, creating Hungarian-language programs.
He was a pioneer in folk music, starting Transylvania's first folk music bands, "Concord" and "Táltos." He also created the "Tinodi" music band and helped start the Sándor Tomcsa Theatre and the Székelyudvarhely Festival.
His Journey as a Musician
From 1975 to 1987, Károly performed in theatres in both Romania and Hungary. In 1987, he moved to Hungary permanently. For five years, until 1992, he toured around the world. He performed with the "Poppy Folk Ensemble" in places like Western Europe, North and South America, and Australia.
After 1992, he focused mainly on musical theatre. He worked as a composer and musician in Hungary, Transylvania, and Vojvodina. From 2005 to 2011, he was the musical director for the Griff Puppet Theatre. Later, he became a composer and music director for the Sékesfehérvár Royal Games.
Károly Horváth passed away in Budapest in 2015.
